IGNOU Admission 2019 in Master’s Programme

IGNOU Master’s Programme 2019:  IGNOU is the largest Open University in India. It aims at setting a high standard for the distance and open education in India and strengthens India’s Human resource by making higher education available to everyone. It offers admission in various Master’s Programme in both of its January and July Cycle of Admissions every year. Candidates who desire to pursue their education further are provided with this where they can continue their Master’s degree from the distance mode. The Application Forms for the admission to Masters’s programme for July 2019 session were available and the last date for the submission of the form was 31st August 2019. The applicant must make sure that they fulfil the prescribed eligibility criteria as prescribed of the course for which the candidate wants to apply for. How to Apply to the IGNOU Master’s Programme

The Application form to apply for IGNOU Master’s Programme 2019 is now available. The last date for the submission of the form for July 2019 session was 31st August 2019. 

There are two modes in which one was to apply for the IGNOU Master’s programme 2019. The Admission to the programme is direct and no merit is considered for admission. Candidates just need to hold the minimum educational qualification required for Admission into a course. Candidates are to pay the Course fee and Valid documentary proof of meeting the eligibility criteria during admission.

Online Application: In the online mode, the application form had to be filled online at the IGNOU Admission Portal and the course fee has to be paid at the online payment gateway.

Offline Application: In the offline mode, the application form has to be downloaded and printed or collected from the regional centres. The course fee has to be paid through a Demand Draft which must be enclosed with the filled in Application form while submission.

Master of Computer Applications (MCA)

1. Eligibility: Any Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 (three) year duration from a recognized University AND Mathematics as one of the subject at 10+2 level or graduation level; else the student is required to pursue and pass the BCS12 course concurrently with IGNOU MCA.
2. Medium of Instruction: English
3. Duration: Minimum 3 years and Maximum 6 years
4. Fee Structure: Rs. 10,800/- per semester. Non Maths students have to pay Rs.1,200/- additional in the first semester

Master of Science in Dietetics and Food Service Management (MSCDFSM)

Eligibility:

• B.Sc. (Home Science) specialization in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics and Clinical Nutrition or PG Diploma in Dietetics and Public Health Nutrition, or its equivalent

OR

• Graduate (B.Sc.) or equivalent (MBBS, BHS etc) from the following background – Home Science/ Food Science and Technology, Science, Health Care, Medical, Pharmaceutical Catering alongwith the DNHE or CNCC or CFN offered by IGNOU (Simultaneous admission for CFN/ CNCC is also permitted).

Medium of Instruction: English

Duration: Minimum 2 years and Maximum 5 years

Fee Structure: Rs. 32,400/- for full programme to be paid year wise @Rs. 16,200/- per year.

Master of Arts in Rural Development (MARD)

1. Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree or a higher degree from a recognized University.
2. Medium of Instruction: English & Hindi
3. Duration: Minimum 2 years and Maximum 5 years
4. Fee Structure: Rs. 10,800/- for full programme to be paid year wise @Rs. 5,400/- per year.

Master of Science in Counselling and Family Therapy (MSCCFT) (offered only in July Session)

Eligibility:

• Bachelor’s degree with a specialization in subjects like Human Development and Family Studies, Child Development, Human Development and Childhood Studies, Child Development and Family Relationships, Home Science, Psychology, Social Work, Medicine or other allied disciplines.

“Allied disciplines” include Anthropology, Sociology, Education, Philosophy, MBBS or equivalent qualification in Ayurveda, Unani, Sidha or Homeopathy Medicines, Nursing etc. from a recognized University.

OR

• Bachelor’s degree with a higher degree in any of the above-mentioned subjects or Bachelor’s Degree along with a Post Graduate Diploma in Guidance and Counselling from a recognized University.

Medium of Instruction: English

Duration: Minimum 2 years and Maximum 5 years; offered only in July cycle of admissions.

Fee Structure: Rs. 28,000/- for full programme to be paid year wise @Rs. 14,000/- per year.

Master of Tourism and Travel Management (MTTM)

Eligibility

• Category 1: BTS, BA(Tourism); B.Sc. Hospitality and Hotel Administration(BHM); Bachelor’s in Hotel Management (approved by AICTE) and those students who have done their graduation in any field along with a Diploma in Tourism, which is recognized in the University system or by AICTE.
• Category 2: A Bachelor’s Degree in any field. (However, all students of Category 2 will have to pass four additional Tourism foundation courses during their period of study.)

Medium of Instruction: English

Duration: Minimum 2 years and Maximum 4 years

Fee Structure: Rs. 10,800/- for full programme to be paid year wise @Rs. 5,400/- per year for Category-I & for Category-II Rs.13,200/- for full programme to be paid year wise @Rs7,800/- for 1st Year & Rs.5,400/- for 2nd Year.

Master of Arts in English (MEG)

1. Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree or a higher degree from a recognized University.
2. Medium of Instruction: English
3. Duration: Minimum 2 years and Maximum 5 years
4. Fee Structure: Rs. 10,800/- for full programme to be paid year wise @Rs. 5,400/- per year

Master of Arts in Hindi (MHD)

1. Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree or a higher degree from a recognized University

Master of Social Work (MSW)

4. Fee Structure: Rs. 36,000/- for full programme to be paid year wise @Rs. 18,000/- per year

Master of Arts in Philosophy (MAPY)

1. Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
2. Medium of Instruction: English
3. Duration: Minimum 2 years and Maximum 5 years
4. Fee Structure: Rs. 10,800/- for full programme to be paid year wise @Rs. 5,400/- per year

Master of Arts in Education (MAEDU)

1. Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with or without a Degree in Education from a recognized University.
2. Medium of Instruction: English, However, students can write assignments, Term-end-Examination and Dissertation in Hindi.
3. Duration: Minimum 2 years and Maximum 5 years
4. Fee Structure: Rs. 16,200/- for full programme (Rs. 9,000/- for 1st year & Rs. 7,200/- for 2nd year respectively).

Master of Arts in Economics (MEC)

1. Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree or a higher degree from a recognized University.
2. Medium of Instruction: English & Hindi

Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS)

1. Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree in Library and/or Information Science or Associateship from NISCAIR or DRTC

Master of Arts in Extension and Development Studies (MAEDS)

1. Eligibility: Any Graduate.
2. Medium of Instruction: English
3. Duration: Minimum 2 years and Maximum 5 years
4. Fee Structure: Rs. 10,800/- for full programme to be paid year wise @Rs. 5,400/- per year

Master of Arts in Adult Education (MAAE) (offered only in July Session)

1. Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University/Institute
2. Medium of Instruction: English
3. Duration: Minimum 2 years and Maximum 5 years
4. Fee Structure: Rs. 14,400/- for full programme to be paid year wise @Rs. 7,200/- per year. Students admitted for first year shall re-register themselves for the second year by duly filling in the prescribed Re-Registration form of that year and submitting it to the Regional Centre concerned along with requisite fee.

Master of Arts in Gender and Development Studies (MAGD)

1. Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree or a higher degree from a recognized University.
2. Medium of Instruction: English & Hindi

4. Fee Structure: Rs. 10,800/- for full programme to be paid year wise @Rs. 5,400/- per year

Master of Arts in Women’s and Gender Studies (MAWGS) (offered only in July Session)

1. Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University/Institute
2. Medium of Instruction: English
3. Duration: Minimum 2 years and Maximum 5 years
4. Fee Structure: Rs. 14,400/- for full programme. Fee must be paid yearwise-Rs. 7,200/- for 1st year (for Semester 1 & 2) at the time of taking admission to the Programme and Rs. 7,200/- for 2nd year (for semesters 3 & 4) at the time of taking admission to 2nd year through Re-registration.

Master of Arts in Distance Education (MADE)

Eligibility:

• Graduates in any discipline may take admission into this 2 years programme

OR

• Those who have earlier completed PGDDE from IGNOU, may take lateral entry directly into the second year of MA (Distance Education).

Fee Structure: Rs. 10,800/- for full programme to be paid year wise @Rs. 5,400/- per year

Master of Commerce (MCOM)

1. Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree or a higher degree from a recognized University.

4. Fee Structure: Rs. 13,200/- for full programme to be paid year wise @Rs. 6,600/- per year

M.Sc. Mathematics with Applications in Computer Science (MSCMACS) (offered only in January Session)

1. Eligibility:
   1. Graduate with a Major, or Honours in Mathematics with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
   2. If the seats at a centre remain vacant then: Graduate with a BA/B.Sc. degree with Mathematics as one of the three main subjects with equal weightage, having atleast 50% in aggregate and 55% in aggregate in the Mathematics courses will be considered for admission.
