Bihar MBBS Admission 2018: Registration window for Bihar MBBS Programme is now open. Deadline to register is 26th June 2018 in online mode. Link to register is provided below. The admission to undergraduate Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme in the medical college/Institute of state Bihar is conducted via NEET exam. Candidates must appear in the NEET in order to get enrolled in MBBS programme.

Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board is responsible to conduct the Undergraduate Medical Admission Counselling (UGMAC) for admission to MBBS programme for the year 2018 in the medical colleges located in the state Bihar.

The counselling authority makes a set of eligibility conditions that every candidate must possess in order to apply for Bihar UGMAC 2018. Correction in Bihar MBBS Application Form

The Applicants can modify/change/edit in the application form by clicking on the “previous” button. But once the application form is submitted, then there is no facility to rectify/modify the details provided on the application form.

Merit List of Bihar MBBS 2018

The official counselling authority determines and prepares the merit list for admission of applicants to MBBS programme in the colleges/Institution of the state Bihar.

Merit list is prepared by considering the following factors :-

• Number of applicants applied for MBBS programme
• Seat availability
• Marks and Rank obtained in the NEET 2018 exam.

Merit list contains the names of shortlisted candidates eligible for counselling. Generally, two rounds of counselling take place. A mop-up round is conducted if the seat remains vacant. Counselling is done based on the rank obtained in the merit list. If the registered candidate does not find his/her name on the merit list, then they are not eligible for the admission. Merit list of Bihar UGMAC MBBS Admission 2018 is expected to be published in the 3rd week of July 2018.

Counselling and Seat Allotment 2018

Candidates whose name appears in the merit list must report at the counselling venue (to be held at Patna) along with the necessary documents. Based on the preference of college and marks obtained in NEET exam, applicants will be allotted seats in the college of their preferred choice.

If the candidate successfully allotted a seat in the college, then he/she should physically report to the allotted college along with the necessary documents within specified date and time. Candidates have to pay the academic fee in order to confirm their seats.

Seat Reservation in Bihar MBBS 2018

The government of state Bihar reserves a certain percentage of the total seats for the candidates belonging to reserved categories in all the participating Institute/Colleges. Applicants must choose their category from the drop-down list while filling up the online application form for counselling. To know the percentage of seats reserved for special categories, refer to “Division of seat category wise” section of this article.  Reserved category here indicates the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste(SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Other Backward Class (OBC) etc.

Students claiming reservation are required to produce valid supporting documents at the time of counselling in order to avail the benefit of reserved seats, failing which the category claim will not be granted.

Division of 85 % State Quota Seats Category-Wise

The official counselling body of Bihar is responsible to conduct counselling for 85% state quota seats only. However, remaining 15% of the seats will be filled via Medical counselling committee.
