JEE Advanced Eligibility Criteria 2019: The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2019 will be conducted by IIT Roorkee for this year. All candidates who are going to appear for the JEE Advanced must check the full JEE Advanced eligibility criteria 2019 before applying for the exam. Qualified candidates of JEE Main 2019 will be able to take the JEE Advanced 2019 Exam. JEE Advanced 2019 will be held on 27th May 2019 in online computer based mode. The examination will be conducted in 2 shifts: Paper 1 – 9:00 to 12:00 IST and Paper 2 – 14:00 to 17:00 IST. Candidates can fill the application form for the same from 3rd week of April 2019.

JEE Advanced Eligibility Criteria 2019
Although the exam conducting body, IIT Roorkee hasn’t yet updated the JEE Advanced eligibility criteria, we have listed down the conditions that the candidates must adhere to before applying or appearing for the national-level examination. Ineligible candidates will not be able to take the exam. Check the full criteria for appearing JEE Advanced 2019 which is listed below:
Performance of candidates in class 12th

- To appear in the JEE Advanced 2019, candidates must have passed in the final examination of Class 12th or equivalent qualifying examination.
- Those who are going to take the qualifying examination in 2019 are also eligible to apply.
- The candidate needs to qualify JEE Main 2019. He/she should have scored the required cut off marks and should be among the top 2,24,000 candidates.
- Candidates must have scored a minimum aggregate of 75% marks (for general category candidates) and 65% (in case of SC/ST/PWD category) in their 12th Board exams.
- Candidates must be within the category-wise top 20 percentile of qualified candidates in their 12th Board exams.
Number of Attempts
- A candidate can appear for the JEE advanced only two times in two consecutive years irrespective of whether he/she has passed the QE (qualifying examination) or not.
Age Limit
- The applicant should have been born on or after 1st October 1993.
- Those candidates who belong to the SC/ST/PwD category will be given a relaxation of 5 years.
Admission to IITs Before
- Candidates who have been earlier admitted to IITs/ISM will not be eligible to apply for JEE Advanced 2019.
- In case a candidate’s admission was cancelled after he/she joined the IIT, he/she will not be eligible.
- If a candidate was allotted a seat and reported to the reporting centre, he/she will not be eligible.
- Those candidates who had been admitted to a preparatory course in the IITs for the first time in 2017 will be eligible.
- Candidates who had been allotted a seat and had paid the seat acceptance fee in 2017 but did not report to the reporting centre are eligible to apply.
- Candidates who had been allotted a seat and had paid the seat acceptance fee in 2017 but withdrew admission before the last round of JoSAA seat allotment are eligible for admission to Indian Institute of Technology.
- Candidates who had been allotted a seat and had paid the seat acceptance fee in 2017 but withdrew their seat before the final seat allotment for IITs, will also be eligible.
Additional Eligibility Criteria for JEE Advanced 2019
- All the candidates who are planning to take admission in the engineering branches of Mining Machinery Engineering, integrated M.Sc program in Geology or Geophysics, Mining Engineering, or Petroleum Engineering should not have colour blindness.
- Candidates must make produce a medical fitness certificate for the same.
- If you are opting for mining engineering, every candidate must make sure to adhere to the visual acuteness with or without glasses as prescribed in the DGMS Circular 14 of 1972.
- Those with one eyed vision will be prevented from working underground.
- Section 45 (1) of the Mines Act, 1952 informs that no woman will be allowed to work underground and in mines. If she works above the ground, she can only work from 6 AM to 7 PM.

JEE Advanced 2019 Eligibility Criteria for Foreign Nationals
If you are a foreign national i.e. if you are a Non-Resident Indian (NRIs), Person of Indian Origin (PIO) or Overseas Citizen of India then you must check the below listed JEE Advanced 2019 Eligibility Criteria given below. 10% of the total seats in every course are supernumerary and are reserved for foreign nationals.
- The applicant should have been born on or after 1st October 1993.
- Candidates should have appeared for the qualifying examination in 2017, 2018 or 2019.
- He/she must have scored a minimum aggregate of 75% marks in 12th Qualifying Examination.
- The applicant must be among the top 20 percentile holders in the 12th board examination.
- The top 20 percentile score of the candidate will be calculated for the 5 subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Language subject (If there are more than 1 language subjects then the language with higher marks will be considered) and Additional subject (if is more than one additional subject then the subject with higher marks will be considered).
Candidates must check the JEE Advanced 2019 full eligibility criteria for appearing in the exam.
