JoSAA Reporting Centers 2025: Reporting to the allotted center is a mandatory process after confirming to freeze the seat allotted to the candidate. Candidates need to report to the right-center; failing to which, candidates can lose the allotted seat. JoSAA 2025 Reporting Centers are the venue assigned for the document verification and admission confirmation, and the reporting centers will be different for IITs. Candidates will be required to report to the assigned reporting center in person and at the said time. Candidates will be required to carry all the relevant documents that will be considered for the verification process and checking the authenticity of the candidate’s background. Since the reporting centers are bifurcated in two groups, i.e. one for the IITs and the other for NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs, candidates must be careful in reporting to the right centre.

JoSAA 2025 Reporting Center Highlights
- Candidates, who have given a seat and who accept his/her respective seat, will have to report to the chosen center for that particular institute.
- Candidates must be physically present at the reporting center.
- Reporting Centers will differ for IITs and all the NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs
- At the reporting center, the candidate’s documents will be examined and his/her eligibility will be assessed.
- Only after the document verification and eligibility assessment, candidates will be accepted for the seat.
- It is important to report at the right reporting center. For example, for the admissions of IITs, candidates are required to report at the reporting center for IIT only.
JoSAA Seat Allotment 2025
Candidates, on the basis of the JEE Mains/ JEE, Advanced performance, and given seat preferences, will be allotted seats by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). Candidates will be able to check their JoSAA seat allotment results by logging in to the registered ID and viewing the results therein. The Seat Allotment procedure will take as much as 7 rounds and 2 mock rounds until the seats are completely filled in.

Since candidates do not always agree with the seat allotted, they expect to participate in another round of counselling session. The authorities have provided 3 kinds of provisions to the candidates. They are as follows:
- Floating – With the floating provision, candidates can pursue another round of seat allotment whilst remain satisfied with the seat allotted. It’s just the term suggests, candidates can float around to see if they get something better.
With this option, candidates have an additional benefit of opting for “Dual Reporting”. In this process, candidates who have been allotted an IIT seat may opt for up-gradation to an NIT seat. He/she will have to appear in reporting sessions for both these seat allotments. If candidates fail to appear in either of the reporting session, he/she might lose both the seats. For IITs, candidates will have to report to the center decided for the IITs, and for NITs, candidates will have to report at the centers decided for the NITs.
- Freezing – In this option, candidates will have to be contempt with the seat that was allotted without having the option of participating in another seat allotment round.
- Sliding – With this option, the candidate can accept their current allotted seat with the provision of upgrading their options.
Admission Cancellation
Candidates will have the provision of canceling their allotted seats, but they have to do it before the last round of counselling. Once a candidate decides to cancel his/her admission, he/she will not be able to participate in the further rounds of seat allotment conducted by JoSAA through the JoSAA 2019 Counselling. The admission cancellation will cost the candidate an amount of INR 1000. Even though candidates will be debarred from participating in the JoSAA Counselling session, they can still apply for CSAB Special Round Counselling which will be held after the JoSAA Counselling.
JoSAA Document Verification
One of the major purposes of Reporting to the center is for the verification of documents. Candidates will have to be physically present with all the relevant documents and get them verified in hand. The list of documents for IITs and NITs are given below.
