WBJEEB had announced that WBJEE 2018 will take place on  22nd April 2018 i.e Sunday. The online application form for the same had been released online on 19th December 2017 and the last date to fill the same is 19th January 2018. After the declaration of results, the cut-off has been released by the concerned authority to mark a score/rank which students need to obtain to be eligible for the counselling and seat allotment process. Only those candidates who score equal to or more than the cut-off will be a part of the merit list and will be called for counselling. The cut-off will be different as per the institution selected, course and category of the candidate.

Seat Reservation For WBJEE 2018

There are a number of seats that are reserved for the candidates of West Bengal only. Categories like SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD, Minority quota, Defence quota, management quota, are given reservations. Candidates who claim seats under such category are required to show correct and valid category documents at the time of counselling and admission. In case the document is found invalid, seat reservation will be regarded as invalid and the system will put him in the general category automatically.

SC/ST Reservation

All the applicants must upload and submit their documents at the time of filling up Application Form of WBJEE 2018. The following are the authorities that should have issued the caste certificate:

PWD Reservation

Candidates with disabilities with the following types will be given reservation subject to the condition that the candidate is capable of carrying out all activities related to theory and practical work as applicable to B.E/B. Tech/B. Arch/B. Pharm courses without any special concession and exemption:

  1. Locomotor disability
  2. Visual impairment
  3. Hearing impairment
  4. Speech and language disability

For B.E/B. Tech/B. Arch/B. Pharm Courses

The candidates with 40% disability in regards to the one mentioned above are eligible for admission in these courses.

For Admission to MBBS/BDS Courses

The candidates with 50% to 70% locomotor disability with lower limb only can claim this reservation. In case the quota stays unfulfilled due to non-availability of candidates, the seats will be filled by candidates with less than 50% locomotor disability with lower limbs.

Minority Quota

Under this quota, 50% of the seats are available for people of minority candidates of Higher Technical Institute.

Defence Quota

Seat allotment under this category is allocated through a separate offline counselling where a separate merit list is prepared. In this quota, 9 seats are reserved, of which 7 are for different courses in Government, engineering and technology colleges and the remaining 2 for Japura University.
