Important Dates and Updates

As per the recent notification, the official authority has released the application form in both online and offline mode on 20th April 2018 for B.A.LL.B (Hons), B.B.A.LL.B (Hons), B.Com.LL.B (Hons) and LL.B (Three Years) Course programme. To apply, visit the “application form” section of this article.

The official authority has not released any notification regarding the NEF law entrance test 2018 till date. The updates regarding the Entrance Exam 2018 will be provided here once it is released. The information provided in the below table is based on the previous year data.

NEFLET 2018 Eligibility Criteria

The admission into NEFLET for the academic session 2018 will be granted only if the applicant possesses the below-mentioned eligibility criteria and qualify the entrance exam. However, the interested candidate also has to fill up the application form to attend the entrance exam. Aspirants must be aware of the eligibility criteria before going to apply for NEF Entrance Exam 2018. To know the eligibility criteria, refer to the table given below:-

a) A candidate for admission to the Five Year Integrated B.A LL.B. (Hons), BBA LLB (Hons) and B. Com LLB (Hons) course must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) or an equivalent examination securing in aggregate not less than 45% of the total marks for general candidates, not less than 42% for OBC category and 40% for SC/ ST candidates as per latest Bar Council of India Rules.

(b) Aged not more than 20 years for general category applicants & 22 years for SC/ST candidates.

2.LLB (3 yrs)(a) A candidate for admission to the Three years LL.B. Course must have graduate in any discipline from a recognized university with at least 45% of the total marks for general candidates, not less than 42% for OBC category and 40% for SC/ ST candidates as per latest Bar Council of India Rules. Those awaiting for their final year results can also apply for admission in the Programme.

(b) Aged not more than 30 years for general category applicants & 35 years for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

NEFLET Application Form

The application form for NEFLET 2018 is expected to release in the first week of April 2018. Candidates can apply for NEF law entrance test (NEFLET) 2018 in offline mode by following the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: Avail NEFLET Application Form

To apply for NEF B.A.LL.B (Hons), B.B.A.LL.B (Hons), B.Com.LL.B (Hons) and LL.B (Three Years) Course, Click on “NEFLET Application Form 2018″

Candidates can get NEFLET 2018 application form in three ways as mentioned below:

  • A. By purchasing the form visiting personally from the college
  • B. By post – By sending a demand draft in favour of NEF Law College payable at Guwahati
  • C. By downloading the form from the official website of NEF Law College

Step 2: Fill the Application Form

Some of the details that candidates need to fill in the application form are:

  • Personal details such as name, date of birth, gender, nationality, email address, mobile number etc
  • Academic information such as the name of the institution last attended, subjects studied, marks scored etc.
  • Photo
  • Signature

Step 3: Payment of Registration Fee

Candidates can pay application fee either in cash (at the time of purchasing the form personally) or through demand draft (DD) favouring NEF Law College payable at Guwahati.

Step 4: Submission of NEFLET 2018 Application Form

After filling all details in the application form, candidates can submit it at the office of NEF Law College before the last date of submission as prescribed by the institute. Along with the form, candidates also need to submit five recent stamp size photographs and two self-addressed envelopes.

NEFLET Admit Card/ Hall Ticket 2018

Candidates who successfully applied for NEF Law Entrance Test 2018, they can avail their Hall Ticket in online mode by visiting the official website of NEF. The admit card is likely to release in the third week of June 2018. The registered candidates can access the hall ticket by entering the registration number and date of birth. Admit card contains the exam centre details, important guidelines and other details. The students should take the printout and carry the admit card on the day of examination.

NEFLET Results 2018

NEF Law Entrance Exam 2018 result will be declared tentatively in the third week of June 2018 in the online mode on its official website. The candidates who appeared in the test can access the result by entering the registration number, name and date of birth. The result or scorecard contains the marks obtained in the entrance test. Based on the marks obtained by the applicants in the test, the official authority determines the cut-offs and prepares a merit list.

Counselling and seat allotment process

The shortlisted candidates will be allotted seats based on the merit and choices filled by the candidates. Candidates can check their seat allotment by logging in to the official website. Admission to the participating college will be made based on the rank secured by the candidates in the entrance test. The shortlisted candidate must report to the allotted institution along the following list of documents for document verification.

  1. Birth Certificate or HSLC or equivalent Examination Certificate.
  2. HSLC & HS or equivalent examination Marksheets & Pass Certificate.
  3. Degree Marksheet & Pass Certificate.
  4. LL.B./ Five Year Law Marksheets & Pass Certificates.
  5. Transfer Certificate from the Institution last attended.
  6. Caste/ Tribe Certificate from Competent Authority (if applicable)
  7. Migration Certificate (wherever applicable, it can be submitted after Admission)

Seat reservation

The National Education Foundation (NEF) reserves a definite number of seats for the candidates belonging to special categories such as Scheduled Tribe (ST), Scheduled Caste (SC), Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Person with Disability.

Candidates have to mention their reservation category while filling the application form of NEF Entrance Test 2018. Students claiming reservation are required to produce valid supporting documents in the prescribed format at the time of counselling in order to avail the benefit of reserved seats. Reservation of seat is followed as per norms laid in relevant Act/rule of Govt./ Gauhati University/ Bar Council of India.
