How to Join NDA 2021?
The Union Public Services Commission conducts the NDA exam 2021, is also known as UPSC. The Joint Services academy of the Indian Armed Forces, where the candidates can join the three services, the Army, the Navy, and the Air Force train together before they go on to pre-commissioning training in their respective service academies. For joining in the National Defence Academy candidates must appear in the entrance exam conducted by the UPSC, the exam of UPSC NDA is conducted two times in a year, normally in the month of April and September. The Candidates must be unmarried male to join in the NDA. The Candidates who want to join National Defence Services must pass in written exam, SSB, medicals, and then final merit list will be prepared.
Eligibility Criteria for UPSC NDA 2021
The candidates who are aspiring for such a prestigious examination would be required to be eligible for the examination. The NDA Eligibility Criteria 2021 is mentioned on the official notification. The candidates can check the required Eligibility Criteria here as well as on the official notification. Only the eligible candidates can apply. If the candidate is not eligible for the UPSC NDA 2021 and they still apply their Application Forms will be rejected. If the application form consists of wrong or misleading information, such applications would be rejected at any level of recruitment.
Nationality
The candidates who are going to appear in the examination must be an Indian National. The organization also allows the privileged group of the candidates to apply for the examination. Following are those privileged groups.
- A Person of Nepal, Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- A Person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
- Provided that a candidate belonging to categories above shall be a person, in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
Age Limit of UPSC NDA 2021:
- Min age: 5 years
- Max age: 5 years
The male candidates who are aspiring for the examination must have been born between the time periods of 2nd July 2002 – 1st July 2005. That is the candidate’s age must be between 16-19 years only. Any candidate born before or after the mentioned age will not be eligible for the examination. The candidates should make sure that they attach their Matriculation Certificate or Senior School Leaving Certificate for the Document Verification process. Any other form of affidavit or certificate is not accepted by the UPSC NDA 2021.
Marital Status:
Each Male candidate must abide by the promise that they will not be involved in any kind of marriages before they complete their training. Only unmarried candidates are eligible for the NDA 2021 Examination. Candidates who have been shortlisted in the merit list and will join the training programme couldn’t marry until they complete their full training. A candidate who marries subsequent to the date of his application though successful at this or any subsequent Examination will not be selected for training. The candidates could not be married at training period, shall be discharged and will be liable to refund all expenditure incurred on him by the Government.
Educational Qualifications of NDA 2021
- Army Wing of National Defence Academy– 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
- Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy– 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
- For the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy– 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
Note: Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination.
Physical Standards
Each and every applicant must be physically, mentally being stable and healthy. They must be fit to perform extensive training that they have to go through in the NDA. Union Public Commission has mentioned the respective Physical Standards on Height and Weight categories.

NDA 2021 Application Form
Union Public Service Commission has released the withdrawal application form for the NDA 2021 I on the 27th of January 2021. The NDA Online Form 2021 was released on the official website of UPSC (upsc.nic.in) on the 30th of December 2021. The candidates aspiring for the examination must go through the NDA Registration 2021 before filling the NDA Application 2021. The application process will be completed in online mode only.
No offline forms or in any other form as mentioned below will not be accepted under any circumstances. Each candidate should make sure that the Eligibility Criteria is fulfilled by them and there must not be any default in any of the categories under which they are applying. How to Apply for NDA 2021 Exam Application Form
NDA Registration 2021
The candidates would be required to visit the official website of Union Public Service Commission – upsc.gov.in. It is mandatory to be in possession of your own valid Email Address and a Phone Number. If you do not possess any email address, make a Gmail/ Yahoo mail account. The Email ID used there can be used as a valid Email Address for the NDA Registration 2021. Also, a verified, aadhaar linked phone number should be submitted during the candidate’s NDA Registration 2021. In future, UPSC will send reminders, passwords and alerts during the complete process of UPSC NDA 2021.
Submitting the Email Address and Phone Number, the candidate will register themselves for the NDA 2021. The candidate will then receive an automated generated mail from the Commission in the registered mail which will contain your Registration Number and Password (Login Credentials).
NDA Login 2021
Each Registered Candidate will receive their NDA Login 2021 Credentials after they have registered successfully for the examination. NDA Login can be used to access the Candidate’s Portal. All the important documents like result scorecard, admit card etc. are released and can be accessed through the candidate’s portal only. The Login Details include candidate’s Registration Number and Password. Use these details and log onto the Candidate’s Portal. Click on the Application Link and submit the required details.
NDA Online Form Filling 2021
Once the UPSC NDA 2021 candidates have logged in to the candidate’s portal, they will reach the Application Form. In the form Candidate’s Name, Email Address a Phone number is already filled. Now fill in the Personal Details, Communication Details, Educational Details, Physical Standard Details, and other details. These details are shared to acquire candidate’s Personal Information as well as to verify the eligibility to appear in the examination. Do remember to provide exact correct information, and verify multiple times before you submit. In case of mistakes or incorrect information, UPSC NDA will reject your form.
Scanned Document Upload
Each candidate is required to submit their Photograph and Scanned Image of their Signature. The images should be in the prescribed format only. Do not submit images that do not follow the instructions laid out in the official notice. Images should in colour against white backgrounds and in JPG/ JPEG Format. Keep in mind the file size that is acceptable and the height – width of the image.
NDA Application Fee 2021
Once all the details are filled, and documents are uploaded, make sure to verify the details before you proceed to pay for NDA Application form. The Application Fee of NDA 2021 is Rs.100 for all the candidates. However, ST/ SC/ NCOs/ Ors/ Sons of JCOs candidates are exempted to pay the application fee. OBC candidates are not exempted; they have to pay the full fees for the examination. The NDA 2021 application fee can be paid by the applicants through SBI Bank Challan method or debit or credit card/ net banking method.
Printing Confirmation Page of NDA 2021 Application Form:
Once again check the Application Form. Confirm if the Application Fee has been submitted and updated on the Candidate’s Portal. Then the candidate can download the Confirmation Page of the Application Form. This will be a confirmation that the candidate has filled in the Application Form Correctly. Print this confirmation page on an A4 size white paper for the future references.
UPSC NDA 2021 Admit Card
Union Public Service Commission will release the UPSC NDA 2021 Admit Card on its official website. The candidates of NDA 2021 examination can download their admit card through using login details of NDA application form. No candidate will receive the NDA Hall Ticket 2021 through post or emails. It is mandatory to check that all the details mentioned on the admit card is correctly mentioned and must be verified thoroughly. NDA 2021 Exam Pattern
The written examination is the first step of the selection procedure. The examination will be conducted in the offline mode only. All the candidates appearing for the examination must be very much in the complete information of the NDA 2021 Exam Pattern. Knowing the Examination Pattern will allow the candidates to prepare well for the examination. In the written examination two subject areas will be tested; Mathematics and General Ability.

- The questions will be of objective/ multiple choice type nature.
- Both the subject, Maths, and GAT will be bilingual that is the questions will be asked in English as well as Hindi.
- In the question papers, wherever necessary, questions involving the metric system of Weights and Measures only will be set.
- Candidates must write the papers in their own hand. In no circumstances will they be allowed the help of a scribe to write answers for them.
- The Commission has the discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects at the examination.
- The examination shell restricted to use a calculator or Mathematical or logarithmic table for answering objective type papers (Test Booklets). They should not, therefore, bring the same inside the Examination Hall.
NDA 2021 Syllabus
The complete NDA Syllabus 2021 is available. To prepare well, the candidates must go through the Syllabus thoroughly and prepare each topic of the complete subject. Make sure that all the necessary study material is in your hand. Often appear for the mock tests and Practice Papers. Practicing the questions will also help candidates with their time management. Majorly, the following topics are included for the examination:
- Mathematics: Algebra, Analytical Geometry Of Two And Three Dimensions, Matrices And Determinants, Differential Calculus, Trigonometry, Integral Calculus And Differential Equations, Statistics & Probability and Vector Algebra
- English: Grammar and Usage, Vocabulary, Comprehension and Cohesion.

NDA Answer Key 2021
The authority will publish NDA answer key on the official website within a week after the commencement of exam. Candidates can obtain answer key from the official website directly. After downloading the NDA answer key 2021, candidates should match their answer with the given set of answer keys. Candidates will be able to get an idea about their possible score of the examination. If anyone wants to challenge any answer, he/she should apply in the proper way.
NDA 2021 Result
The Union Public Service Commission will publish the NDA 2021 result on its official websites via online mode in pdf format. After the completion of the examination, the result will be announced within a month. The NDA result 2021 will contain the roll numbers of the qualified candidates of NDA written exam. After that the examination of UPSC NDA gets conducted, the authority will release the NDA Cut Off 2021. It will contain the minimum marks that are required to qualify the examination.
NDA 2021 SSB Interview
The candidates will be shortlisted for the personality & intelligence interview, on the basis of the prepared merit list. The UPSC will send the details of the allocation of center and dates of SSB interview on the candidates’ email id. In the first stage of SSB, the Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) will be conducted. On the second stage the Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests, and Conference will be conducted. The organization’s body informs all final selected candidates. After the completion of the interview round, the candidates have to submit the original certificates.
Medical Examination and Verification of Documents of NDA
The Candidates will also go through a medical examination prior to final selection. After qualifying the SSB Interview round, the authority will verify original documents of the candidates. The selected Candidates of UPSC NDA must carry their all relevant original documents for verification purposes. Soon after the release medical test, a final merit list will release on its official website.
