About IIIT Pune

Indian Institute of Information Technology, Pune is commonly known as IIIT Pune or IIITP. It focuses on providing education in the field of Information Technology. It was established in the year 2016 and is located in Pune, Maharashtra. The institute is set up by the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of Maharashtra, and industry partners: Rolta and Hubtown Limited under the Not-for-profit Public Private Partnership (N-PPP model). IIIT Pune is being mentored by the Government College of Engineering, Pune (COEP). The first academic session was started on July 2016 in a temporary campus at Siddhant College of Engineering, Sudumbare, Pune. It is expected that the institute will move to its permanent campus situated at Nanoli Tarf Chakan comprising a space of 100 acres land.

IIIT Pune grants admission in two branches of B.Tech program namely Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE). There is an intake of 60 students in each branch which results in a total of 120 seats available for admitting applicants to IIITP. Applicants are granted admission based on their All India Ranks (AIRs) secured in JEE Main examination or a valid score secured in class 12th board exams. But these ranks or scores must be equal to or above the prescribed IIIT Pune Cutoff only then the candidate is considered eligible for admission.
