BHU PET 2025 Important Highlights
The University has created its Entrance Test Portal with the domain name www.bhuonline.in. Its link is also available on the BHU website (www.bhu.ac.in). The entire process of making an application for admission in various courses during the academic session 2025-23 has been made online. BHU PET Eligibility Criteria 2025
BHU PET 2025 Eligibility Criteria Banaras Hindu University prescribes the eligibility criteria for admission to the Post Graduate courses offered by the University. Candidates planning on applying for the Post Graduate Entrance Test by filling up BHU PET 2025 Application form will be required to go through the eligibility criteria in detail. Notes Related to Minimum Eligibility Requirement
- The candidate shall be admitted in a course according to merit drawn on the basis of aggregate marks secured in the Entrance Test provided he/she fulfils the minimum eligibility criteria and minimum qualifying marks in the Entrance Test.
Minimum qualifying marks in an Entrance Test shall be determined as follows
- Candidates belonging to General/ OBC categories: Not less than 35% of the marks obtained by the topper of the concerned categories in the concerned Entrance Test;
- For Candidates belonging to SC/ ST categories: Not less than 25% of the marks obtained by the topper of the concerned categories in the concerned Entrance Test.
- Candidates appearing in the Final Year of the Qualifying Examination may also apply and appear in the Test. However, the candidate will be required to produce the original mark sheet of the qualifying examination at the time of counselling for getting admission.
- Further, the candidates who are called for counselling for provisional admission in a course, but they are not able to produce the mark sheet of the qualifying examination(s) with minimum eligibility requirements at the time of counselling may also be allowed to take conditional admission.
Other Eligibility Conditions
However, the conditional admission will be on the condition that (a) such candidates give an undertaking that they will produce the original mark sheet of the qualifying examination with minimum eligibility requirement latest by 31st October 2025. (b) It is evident from the mark sheet(s) of the previous examination(s) relating to the course of qualifying degree that the candidate has secured at least stipulated minimum percentage of aggregate marks (for example 50%) in the previous examination(s) (except final year examination/final year semester examination(s) of the qualifying degree. (This will not be necessary for SC/ST candidates).
- If they fail to produce the requisite mark sheet by 31st October 2025 their admission will be treated as cancelled and they will not claim for refund of the fee paid for conditional admission.
- Candidates who are already admitted as regular students to Part I / I-Semester of any of the above courses of study in this University through Entrance Test in earlier years(s) and are eligible for appearing in the Examination of 2nd semester of the said course shall not be allowed to re-appear in the Entrance Test for admission in the same Course.
- Further, such candidates who were not eligible for appearing in the concerned examination due to shortage of attendance or for not filling the examination form in time will be allowed to appear in the Entrance Test for that course if he/she is otherwise eligible.
- Candidates already admitted in Part II (III-Semester or above) shall not be allowed to appear in the Entrance Test of the same course. Violation of this provision by any of the bonafide students of the University will be treated as an act of misconduct and shall be dealt with accordingly.
- A candidate can apply for any number of courses for which he/she is eligible, provided the Entrance Tests are on different dates (please refer to the Entrance Test Schedule).
- Mere appearance in the Entrance Test or securing pass marks at the PET does not entitle a candidate to be considered for admission to the Course unless he/she fulfils the eligibility conditions.
BHU PET 2025 Application Form
Banaras Hindu University has released the BHU PET Application Form 2025 for admission to the PG courses offered by the University. BHU releases a single Application form for all the courses. Candidates planning on applying for the PG courses offered by the University will be required to fill up the available BHU PET 2025 application form. The option of Postgraduate courses will be provided in the form.
The details mentioned in the form for Post Graduate Entrance Test should be valid and correct as any form of misleading information will lead to the cancellation of the candidature. Candidates will have to fill BHU PET 2025 application form with Personal, academic, contact details. The final submission of the Application form for BHU PET 2025 will be done only after the payment of the application fee. Candidates are advised to go through the eligibility criteria as prescribed by BHU before applying to the preferred course.
How To Apply for BHU PET 2025?
The Application Form for BHU PET 2025 is available on the BHU‟s entrance test portal (www.bhuonline.in). The online application making process will have the following six stages:
Registration on the Portal 2025
This step involves authentication of the Candidates email id and mobile number. As all-important communications related to Entrance Test and Admission will be sent to the registered email id and mobile number, candidates are advised to give their correct email id/ mobile number (in use).
Filling up Identification details
Only after successful registration on the Portal [www.bhuonline.in], the candidates would be required to fill up an Identification Form giving particulars of the documents for authentication of their identity. For the purposes, the following photo identification documents are allowed: (i) Aadhaar Card; (ii) Passport; (iii) Voter ID issued by the Election Commission of India; (iv) Bank Passbook affixed with the photograph (v) Driving License; (vi) Pan Card; (vii) any other valid Government ID Number and (viii) Admit Card issued by the concerned Boards (students appearing in Class 12)
Online Application Form Entry and Course Selection
After successful authentication of identity, candidates would be allowed to fill-up details in the online application form and select the course after ensuring their eligibility for the concerned course in which they are desirous.
Uploading of photographs and signature
Candidates have to scan their photo and signature as per the instruction given in the portal and upload it.
Payment of Application Processing/ Entrance Test Fee
After the candidate has filled up the application form online and clicks on the “CONFIRM” button, he/she will be provided with the following options for payment of application processing/test fee through Online payment through credit card/ debit card through the payment gateway available on the Entrance test portal. The candidate is required to retain the fee receipt for his record.
Printout of Application Form for the record of candidates
After online submission of the application form and successful payment of Application Processing/ Test Fee, candidates are advised to take a printout of the online filled up application form (containing the details he/she has filled in and the transaction details of payment of application fee) from either the Entrance Test portal for their own record.

N.B. Sometimes there may be technical reasons for the non-delivery of e-mails/SMS to candidates, therefore, candidates are advised to visit BHU‟s Entrance Test Portal (www.bhuonline.in) every day after the entrance test results have been declared to have detailed information on counselling schedule, downloading call letters, offer of admission payment of fee, etc.
Rejection Cases of BHU PET 2025 Application Form
The BHU PET Application Form of the candidates can get rejected under the following circumstances:
- Submission of application form without payment of the requisite amount of Application Processing/ Entrance Test Fee.
- Any other inadequacy detected.
- If at any stage it is found that the applicant is not eligible for admission in a discipline under University rules, his/her candidature will automatically stand cancelled.
PET 2025 Application Fees
List of Documents Required
Only those candidates who are selected/ waitlisted shall be informed through a “Call Letter‟ (to be downloaded from the Entrance Test Postal) by the concerned Dean of Faculty/Head of the Department, BHU about their admission. If a candidate is called for admission to a particular course on a particular date/dates, he/she shall have to bring with him/her all the necessary documents mentioned below in ORIGINAL failing which his/her admission shall NOT be considered.
- Transfer Certificate.
- Migration Certificate, if passed from a university other than BHU (To be submitted not later than 90 days of admission).
- High School Certificate/equivalent Certificate.
- Intermediate (+2) Certificate/equivalent Certificate.
- Mark sheets of High School/equivalent & Intermediate (+2)/equivalent.
- Mark sheet of the Qualifying Examination.
- PET Admit Card issued from the office of the Controller of Examinations, BHU.
- SC/ST/OBC Certificate on the basis of which reserved quota seat is claimed.
- Certificate(s) in support of a claim for ‘Sports Seats’.
- Certificate of being the son/daughter of a permanent in-service employee/Retired/Reemployed/ Deceased employee of BHU in the prescribed format issued by the Central Registry.
N.B. Candidates must have in their possession all original documents such as High School Mark sheet and Certificate, Intermediate or equivalent Mark sheet of the undergraduate exam passed and Certificate (if issued), Certificate of Reservation, Transfer Certificate, Migration Certificate (if issued by the Board) and Admit Card of the Respective Entrance Test at the time of admission failing which their admission shall not be considered.

BHU PET 2025 Admit Card
The Controller of Examinations of Banaras Hindu University will release the BHU PET Admit Card 2025 online one week prior to the date of conduct of the test. Therefore the applicants must download the BHU Admit card of the Post Graduate Entrance Test on the official website of the University. Candidates who successfully submitted BHU PET Application form 2025 will be able to download the Admit Card of the Post Graduate Entrance Test from the official website. Candidates can download the admit card from the BHU Entrance Test Portal (www.bhuonline.in) around one week prior to the date of conduct of the test.
If a candidate is unable to download the Admit Card till 03 days before the date of the Test, he/she should contact the Office of the Controller of Examinations, BHU, Varanasi on Help Desk Phone Number and email id. available on Entrance Test Portal. In case of any discrepancy, the candidate should inform the Office of the Controller of Examinations immediately. BHU PET 2025 Admit Card is an important document required on the day of the exam. It will have all the required details that will be necessary for the candidate. A copy of the BHU PET 2025 admits card should be kept carefully by the candidates as it will be required during the counselling and admission procedure further.
BHU PET Test Pattern
There shall be negative marking in entrance tests for all Courses of study in PET. Three marks shall be awarded for each correct answer while one mark shall be deducted for each incorrect answer. Unattempted questions will be awarded zero marks. A candidate shall be selected in order of merit on the basis of aggregate marks secured in the Entrance Test provided he/she fulfils the minimum eligibility criteria and minimum qualifying marks in the test.
BHU Answer Key Challenging 2025
The provisional answer key will be uploaded on BHU‟s entrance test portal (www.bhuonline.in) as per the following schedule:
The candidates can log in to the portal and see the provisional answer key. The facility to challenge the provisional answer key and questions shall be available for 03 days from the date of upload as per the aforesaid schedule. The Candidates would be required to pay online a sum of Rs.100/- (one hundred only) as Processing Fee for each question/answer key challenge. The payment of the Processing Fee may be made online only (Debit/Credit Card/ Net Banking). If the challenge is found correct the Processing Fee will be refunded online in the same account (Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking). No challenge will be entertained through e-mails/offline modes and without receipt of the prescribed Processing Fee. The decision of the experts of the University regarding Question(s)/ Key will be final.
BHU PET Result 2025
The Controller of Examinations will release the BHU PET Result 2025 in the 1st week of August 2025 online on the official website of the university. The counselling procedure for the final seat allotment will begin after the declaration of the Result. The information regarding the BHU PET Merit List 2025 and BHU PET Result will be provided on the registered email ID and phone number provided at the time of the application form submission. The selection of the candidates will be done in order of merit prepared on the basis of the aggregate marks secured by the candidate in the entrance test. For accessing the result of the BHU Post Graduate Entrance Test successfully, candidates will have to provide the asked credentials in the result login section of the admission portal.
BHU PET Counselling 2025
Banaras Hindu University will be conducting PET counselling 2025 after the result declaration of the Post Graduate Entrance Exam. Candidates who will successfully qualify for the exam will be called for BHU PET 2025 counselling procedure for the final seat allotment. The BHU PET 2025 counselling will be conducted as per the schedule. The selected candidates will be issued a call letter in order to participate in BHU Counselling 2025. Candidates will be required to fill up the preference, of course, of location and the seat type. The candidate should get her/his original documents as mentioned in the information brochure for verification on the day of the admission.
It should be noted that the seat allotment will be confirmed only after the submission of the admission fee. The University will adopt a computerized counselling procedure for admissions to various courses during the academic session 2025-23. The counselling procedure will involve the following steps:
BHU PET Counselling Process
- Online Preference Entry (on or after the issue of Call Letter and before the Counselling Date). Every candidate called for counselling for admission to a Course shall be required to fill up an online Preference Entry Form which will be available and active on the “Candidate” segment of the Entrance Test Portal [www.bhuonline.in] for online preference entry after they have received the password.
- The candidates must reach the counselling venue at the prescribed time/date given in this Call letter. Contact the Counseling Centre/Venue Incharge and mark your attendance by signing the attendance sheet available with the Counseling Centre Incharge.
- On the next day of Counselling, date Candidates must submit the proof of payment of admission fee to the Counselling Centre/Venue Incharge latest by 04:00 pm on the next day of the Counselling (deadline for payment of Fee).
Important Instructions For the Candidates Appearing in PET 2025
- Do check all the details that are printed on the Hall Ticket.
- Make sure that you carry the admit card along with your Identity Proof.
- No Candidate will be allowed entry to the Test Hall after the start of the Entrance Test. The candidates are required to follow the instruction given in the Admit Card in this regard.
- The test will start exactly at the time mentioned in the Admit Card and an announcement to this effect will be made by the Centre Superintendent/invigilator.
- No Candidate shall be allowed to leave the Test Hall till the end of the Test.
