BCECE stands for Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination. It is also referred to as Bihar CET (Common Entrance Test) or BCECE Bihar CET. It is conducted by BCECE Board for admission to various private and government colleges of Bihar for engineering courses. BCECE is state level examination that is conducted for admission to undergraduate courses. The exam is conducted in two stages: Stage 1 and stage 2 and it is mandatory for the candidate to attempt both the stages.
Check Eligibility For BCECE Exam
For the academic session of 2018-19, BCECE was conducted in one stage only. Only those students who have cleared this stage will be eligible for admission to the engineering course. BCECE is conducted offline in pen and paper based mode. The Government of Bihar constituted the Board, under BCECE Act of 1995 for admission to engineering institutes of the state of Bihar through BCECE examination. Only those students who have studied science in class 11th and 12th can think of taking the exam.

BCECE 2018
BCECE 2018 was conducted on 29th (for Physics, chemistry, Mathematics and Biology) and on 30th April 2018 (for Agricultural Science). The applications for the same was released on 7th March 2018. Only those candidates who had registered themselves were issued an admit card and appeared for the examination. The results have been announced on 19th June 2018 and the counselling procedure will begin around last week of July 2018. Results Of BCECE 2018
The Results of Bihar CET 2018 has been declared online on the official website on 19th June 2018. Candidates can access the Results for the same by entering their roll number and date of birth. The result will be displayed for each candidate in the form of a scorecard. The result of the BCECE 2018 contains information like the name of the candidate, roll number, date of birth, qualifying status and marks scored by the candidate. BCECE 2018 Results will determine whether a candidate will be called for counselling and seat allotment procedure or not. Candidates must take a print out of the BCECE 2018 Result and keep it safely for further preferences.
BCECE 2018 Admit Card/Hall Ticket
The BCECE 2018 Admit card which is also referred to as the hall ticket had been released for download on 14th April 2018. The Admit card had been made available online only on the official website of BCECE Board. Candidates had to visit the official website and click on the admit card link. BCECE 2018 admit card is one of the important documents that a candidate must carry to the exam center as it will contain all the essential details and will act as a proof of identity of the candidate. The Admit card should not be soiled or damaged in any way or be forgotten on the day of the exam as the absence of it will prevent the candidate from taking the exam.

The BCECE 2018 Admit Card will carry information like name of the candidate, his/her photograph and signature, exam venue details, exam timings, etc. Applicants had to log in to their account with the login credentials and download the admit card after checking all the details mentioned in it. In case of any discrepancy on the hall ticket, the candidate had to report it to the concerned authority immediately.
BCECE 2018 Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria are conditions laid down by the exam conducting authority based on parameters such as age, nationality, domicile, academic qualification, etc. All candidates appearing for BCECE 2018 must make sure that they meet all the eligibility criteria and only then fill up the application form. The application form of any ineligible candidate will be rejected at any point in time.
The BCECE 2018 Eligibility Criteria is given below:
- Candidate should have passed 10+2 qualifying examination or equivalent. He/she must have obtained a minimum 45% marks (for general category) and 40% marks (for reserved category) in the qualifying examination.
- Those candidates who are appearing for their qualifying examination in the year 2018 are also eligible to apply.
- Candidate must have studied Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subject with Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subjects as optional.
- There is no age restriction to take BCECE 2018.
Application Form for BCECE 2018 Exam
BCECE 2018 Application form submission last date Had been extended till the 14th Of April 2018.
The BCECE 2018 application form was made available from 7th March 2018. BCECE 2018 Application form was available to be filled up online only on the official website. The last date to fill the application form was 14th April 2018 and the deadline to pay the application fee was 16th and 17th April 2018 depending on the mode of Payment. All candidates had to make sure that while filling up the online application form, they provided only the correct details as stated in the documents to be attached and produced at the time of counselling.
The applicants also had to pay an application fee of Rs.1000 (for General and PCM/PCB category) and Rs.500 (for SC/ST category). This application fee could be paid in either online mode through credit card/ debit card/ net banking) or in offline mode through bank challan.
Please note that although the application form had to be filled online, it had to be posted to the below-given address. Candidates had to take a print out of the filled form and affix their picture in the space earmarked for it. The applicant also had to sign the form and attach all the required documents. Exam Center of BCECE 2018
While filling up the application form for Bihar CET 2018, Candidates will also have to enter their preferred exam centers. The exam centers chosen will be considered by the exam conducting authority and will be printed on the admit card that will be released after the application process is over. Exam Pattern Of BCECE 2018
The BCECE 2018 Examination was conducted in two stages. Only those candidates who have cleared theses stages will be considered for admission. Before appearing in any entrance examination, candidates should know the BCECE exam pattern which includes the mode in which the exam is conducted, the marking scheme, number of questions, number of sections in each paper, etc.
BCECE 2018 Stage 1 Exam Pattern is given below:
- The exam will be conducted offline in pen and paper based mode.
- It will be conducted for 2 hours and 15 minutes.
- Questions will be of an Objective type like multiple type questions.
- There will be 3 sections according to the subjects chosen – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology
- There will be 50 questions in each section and there will be total 150 questions.
- 4 marks will be awarded for each correct answer and -1 will be given for an incorrect response.
BCECE 2018 Stage 2 Exam Pattern is given below:
- The exam will be conducted offline in pen and paper based mode.
- The total duration of the exam is 1 hour 30 minutes and candidates will have to appear separately for each subject.
- Questions will be of an Objective type like multiple type questions.
- There will be 3 sections according to the subjects chosen – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology
- There will be 100 questions in each section and there will be total 300 questions.
- 4 marks will be awarded for each correct answer and -1 will be given for an incorrect response.

BCECE 2018 Answer Key
BCECE Board that conducts the Bihar CET will release an answer key after the exam has taken place. This answer key will be made available online for the candidates to check. The Answer key will have all the correct answer keys to all the questions asked in the exam. Using an answer key, candidates will be able to cross-check their answers and have an idea of the probable score that they will be scoring in the exam. Candidates have to visit the official website to view and download the answer key and click on the answer key link. The link will be provided here as soon as it is released by the official website. BCECE 2018 Cut-Off
The cut-off refers to the minimum qualifying marks that a candidate must obtain in order to be eligible for admission to the particular course. The cut-off also refers to the opening and closing rank of the exam. In order to be eligible for counselling, candidates must obtain the minimum BCECE 2018 cut-off marks.
There are many factors that are considered will preparing the cut-off marks like availability of seats, previous years cut-off marks, the number of candidates appearing for the exam, etc.
BCECE 2018 Counselling Process
All the candidates whose names are there on the merit list will be called for counselling for which they will have to register first. During registration, candidates will have to enter their preferred course and college combination. The seat allotment will be done on the basis of this choice made by the candidate. Seat allotment will be done based on the choices made, the merit list and the availability of seats. After the seats have been allotted, candidates will have to take a print out of the provisional allotment letter that will carry all the essential seat allotment details. With the provisional allotment letter, candidates will have to report to the specific institute for handwriting verification. During the handwriting verification, candidates will be tested on the premise that whether the handwriting on the OMR sheets matches with that of the candidate or not. Those who are successful in this round of verification will then have to proceed with the documents verification.
