Assam Combined Entrance Examination (Assam CEE) 2018 will be held in offline (pen-paper test) mode on 29th April 2018 (sunday). Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) will declare the result for Assam CEE 2018 on 10th May 2018. The official authority sets a definite cut-off mark for the exam. Candidates must score equal to or greater then cut-off mark in order appear in the merit list.

Assam CEE Merit List 2018

TheAssam Science and Technology University (ASTU), Assam, will announce Assam CEE 2018 merit list tentatively in the 2nd week of June. Admission to undergraduate B Tech courses at participating institutes will be done on the basis of Assam CEE 2018 merit list.

Merit list is prepared and released category-wise on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in the three subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) in the Assam CEE 2018. In case two or more candidates score the same marks, the tie will be broken based on some set guidelines, which are explained in detail below.

During counselling, the rank of the candidate in the Assam CEE 2018 merit list, along with course and institute preference, will be considered for seat allotment. It must also be noted that only those candidates who meet the minimum cutoff set by the competent authority will be listed on the Assam CEE merit list 2018.

Important Instructions Regarding Assam CEE 2018 Merit List

  • The merit list of Assam CEE 2018 will be available soon after the declaration of result.
  • The Assam CEE merit list 2018 will be category-specific. In case of candidates belonging to reserved categories, they may appear in more than one category provided they the meet the corresponding cutoffs.
  • Candidates who are listed in the Assam CEE 2018 merit list will be eligible for participating in counselling procedure. To participate in Assam CEE 2018 counselling, Shortlisted candidates will have to fill up form B.
  • Allotment of seats during counselling will be purely based on the rank obtained by the candidate in the Assam CEE 2018 entrance examination. Candidates who are ranked higher in the Assam CEE merit list 2018 will be given higher preference over lower ranked candidates.

Procedure for Deciding the Tie Breaker

In case there is a tie in marks obtained in Assam CEE 2018 by two or more candidates, the tie will be broken based on the following order of preference:

  1. The candidate with higher marks in PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) in the qualifying exam will be ranked higher in the Assam CEE 2018 merit list
  2. If the first condition fails to break the tie, the candidate with higher combined marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English in the qualifying examination (10+2) will be taken into account.
  3. If the first two fails then it will be finally decided by the Chairman of Selection Committee by drawing lottery.
