AIIMS MBBS Cut-off List 2018: Cut-off percentile for AIIMS MBBS 2018 has been released. Candidates can check the same below. After the results have been announced, AIIMS will also release the cut-off for the exam. The cut-off is the minimum marks that are required to qualify an entrance examination and be eligible for admission to the desired course and college. In some cases, the cut-off also refers to the opening and the closing ranks. Any candidate who has scored more than or equal to the cut-off in an examination becomes eligible for counselling and seat allotment procedure.

AIIMS MBBS Cut-off 2018

What is the Usage of AIIMS Cutoff 2018?

With the help of AIIMS Cut Off 2018, AIIMS Delhi will shortlist the AIIMS 2018 MBBS Qualified candidates for admission. There are only 807 seats and the number of applicants is huge. Hence, in order to shortlist the candidates, AIIMS uses cutoff. The candidates who score upto or more than the cutoff are featured in the AIIMS MBBS 2018 Merit List and becomes eligible for admission.

The AIIMS MBBS cut-off 2018 has been released. It has decided by the governing body of AIIMS and will be prepared, keeping in mind the following factors:

  1. Number of seats
  2. Number of candidates
  3. Marking scheme of entrance exam
  4. Difficulty level

The cut-off for will be different depending on whether the candidate belongs to the reserved category or unreserved category.

  • For general category students, candidates have to obtain a minimum of 50% in AIIMS MBBS 2018.
  • For Scheduled caste and scheduled tribe, candidates will have to obtain at least 40% to qualify the exam.
  • For other Backward classes, candidates will have to secure at least 45% of marks in AIIMS MBBS 2018.

AIIMS MBBS 2018 Tie Breaking Procedure

The AIIMS MBBS 2018 overall merit or ranking will be based on the Percentile scores of the Total Raw Scores. The method adopted for breaking ties shall be:

Biology: Higher Percentile scores in Biology will result in higher ranking
Chemistry: If Biology Percentiles do not break the tie, higher Percentile scores in Chemistry will result in higher ranking, if biology percentiles do not break the tie.
Physics: If Biology and Chemistry Percentiles do not break the tie, higher Percentile scores in Physics will result in higher ranking, if physics percentile do not break the tie.
Age: If all these methods do not break the tie, the older candidate will be given more preference.

AIIMS 2018 Seats Reservation

AIIMS MBBS examination is conducted for admission to 707 seats distributed across 7 locations across India. New Delhi alone offers 107 seats and the rest six AIIMS institutes offer 100 seats each. The reservation of seats is applicable to this exam also. There are a certain number of seats that are reserved for categories like other backward classes, Scheduled tribe, scheduled caste and Physically handicapped.

The reservation policy from the Government of India is applicable to all the AIIMS. As per last years’ news and updates, the AIIMS Seat Reservation policy is 27% for OBC candidate, 15% for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates (for Indian Nationals) and 3% for the Orthopedic Physical Handicapped (horizontal 3%).

If candidates are not able to fill the number of seats in a particular category, the vacant seats will be passed on to the subsequent category and finally, the seats will be open for general category.
