Bharathidasan University Distance Admission 2025
The University takes direct admission to its distance programs. The eligibility requirement for each course is different. While for UG courses a candidate should have passed 10+2, for PG courses the essential eligibility is an undergraduate degree in a relevant stream. Students must check Bharathidasan University, Center for Distance Education Admission from the academic session 2025-21. Therefore, all the interested candidates must fill the Distance Education Application Form online from the official website bdu.ac.in. BDU Distance Education Admission Process
The Centre for Distance Education (CDE) of Bharathidasan University (BDU) was
established in the year 1992 to serve the students who could not enter the regular colleges for higher education. As the educational programmes offered and the degrees awarded through distance mode are qualitative there is a demand for the programmes offered by the CDE of Bharathidasan University. Candidates may avail spot admission facility at the office of the Centre for Distance Education during all working days, including Saturdays and at all the PCP Centres and Learner Support Centres during Saturdays and Sundays. The CDE Bharathidasan University offers Postal Admission Facility also for those who are unable to come in person to the office for admission.

The Centre for Distance Education offers around 64 programmes including 28 Undergraduate, 22 Postgraduate including 03 Professional Programmes such as MCA and MBA programmes and 11 PG Diploma / Diploma / Certificate Programmes. Application forms can be downloaded from the university official website (www.bdu.ac.in/cde) or can be submitted through online mode and the same may be printed and sent to the CDE with enclosures. Application forms for admission should be submitted through any one of the following modes:

Mode of Payment
The Cost of application/processing fee should be remitted through ON-LINE Payment /Demand Draft. All the fee payments to the University towards Registration, Admission, Tuition, Change of PCP Centre, Change of Address, Change of Medium, etc., are to be made through online payment at the State Bank of India online portal (www.bdu.ac.in/online-payment). In case of Demand Drafts, it should be drawn in favour of „Bharathidasan University‟ payable at Tiruchirappalli. Examination fee should be remitted through online payment at the State Bank of India online portal (www.bdu.ac.in/online-payment.). In case of Demand Drafts, it should be drawn in favour of “Bharathidasan University‟ payable at Tiruchirappalli. Fee once paid will not be adjusted with any other account.

Fee Concessions Centre for Distance Education Students
- Installment of Fees:- The CDE students applying for Bharathidasan University Distance Education Admission are permitted to remit their fees in two installments. The first installment is remitted at the time of admission and the second installment with Rs.500/- additionally, be remitted two months before the commencement of the Examinations. Further 10% of fee concession for PG students in the tuition fee who have studied their UG in the Bharathidasan University.
- Exemption for Differently-abled candidates:- Differently Abled candidates are given 100% exemption of tuition fees in all programmes offered through the Centre for Distance Education. Candidates who need exemption should produce a copy of the Identity Card issued by the Differently Abled Welfare Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu at the time of admission.

Bharathidasan University Distance Education Admission General Instructions
- The method of instruction is through 1) Study Materials and 2) Personal Contact Programmes (PCP).
- Study materials will be supplied to the candidates in the PCP Centres. Every effort is taken to handover the lesson materials of each paper during contact classes. E-books will also be made available on the University website (www.bdu.ac.in/cde).
- Intimation regarding PCP classes, Exam Schedule, Last date for tuition fee and Exam fee will be notified in University website and website updates will be intimated through SMS to all candidates.
- In the PCP classes, lectures are delivered on important topics and the doubts of the students are cleared by efficient teachers. These classes will be organized on Saturdays, Sundays and other holidays. If only a few students are registered, the classes and examinations of PCP Centres may be combined. Candidates are advised to attend the PCP classes regularly for effective learning.
- The study materials given by the CDE are only supporting material. Students are advised to refer to the prescribed Textbooks and reference books for a detailed study.

The Centres for Distance Education (CDE), with a regular intake of around 10,000 students every year, offers 63 Programmes through Distance Education mode. During the last academic year, 09 new programmes were added and 35 new study centres were created. The Centre for Distance Education (CDE) was established in the year 1992 with an aim of providing facility to those who aspire for higher education but could not afford to attend regular programmes due to either socio-economic constraints or employment status.
