NEET Merit List 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) releases the rank list result. It is published on NTA Official Website (www.ntaneet.nic.in). Moreover, the merit list indicates the names of selected candidates who further are eligible for the NEET 2025 admission process. The main purpose of preparing this list is to segregate students on the basis of merit. In addition, the students are called for counselling as per this merit list only. The NTA pass on the NEET Merit List 2025 to the Directorate General of Health Sciences (DGHS), which conducts centralized counselling. NEET Merit List 2025
Only the students whose names are present on the NTA NEET Rank List can participate in counselling. The rank list is further released in PDF format. Moreover, candidates wanting to claim eligibility independently need to submit an online self-declaration. Its printout should be taken along with the confirmation page and has to be submitted during counselling.

How To Download NEET 2025 Merit List?
The step by step guide to download the merit list is given below. Candidates can follow the below-mentioned steps to easily download or check the NEET Rank List 2025.
- Visit the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA) – www.nta.ac.in
- On the homepage, click on the link to “NEET Merit List”
- The rank list then opens in a new window. It shall be available in PDF format.
- Candidates can thus press Ctrl+F to look for their names on the list.
- If your name is there, then you are eligible for counselling. Further, click on the download button and save the merit list on your system.
Furthermore, students should check their names and other details on the rank list carefully. As there could be another student of the same name. Thus, to avoid confusion you should check other details as well, such as the application number, guardian’s name, etc.
NEET CutOff List 2025
The cutoff is the minimum qualifying marks, which each candidate must score for being eligible for the merit list. In addition, students who did not score cutoff marks in NEET Exam are not eligible for admission. NEET CutOff List is further prepared after considering certain factors, such as seat availability, no. of students who appeared for the exam, and difficulty level of the exam.

Types of NEET Rank List 2025
The students participate in large numbers for this national level entrance exam. Hence, for allowing students to easily check the merit list, it is released in different formats. For example, it is released category-wise, state merit list, and AIQ (All India Quota) List, etc. In addition, an overall merit list is also released, wherein all the selected student’s names are mentioned. Furthermore, the state merit list is also released, which indicates the state-wise rank of students. This merit list allows authorities to carry out the process of counselling smoothly. All India Merit List/ Overall Merit List
This merit list consists of the names of all the students across the nation who are eligible for counselling and further admission processes. In addition, the rank of students in this list is the All India Rank (AIR). Therefore, factors such as category, state, and AIQ position are not considered during the preparation of this rank list.
AIQ Merit List
This merit list contains the names of students eligible for All India Quota Seats. The students belonging to the state of Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible for admission under this quota. However, if they want to apply, then a declaration has to be submitted during the application process. The counselling for these quota seats is conducted by the Directorate General of Health Sciences (DGHS) on the behalf of MCC (Medical Counselling Committee).
States’ Merit Lists
The state medical councils prepare their own merit list on the basis of All India Rank. This rank list is prepared considering certain factors that include eligibility of the candidate as per domicile requirement. Further, the students who satisfy eligibility criteria and have their names included in the state merit list are eligible for state counselling. However, the students have to register for the same first.
NEET Tie-Breaking Criteria 2025
The tie-breaking criteria as prescribed by the authorities for ranking students correctly in case two students end up scoring the same marks. Further, the NEET 2025 Tie-Breaking Criteria is as follows:
- The preference is given to the students who have scored more marks in Biology (Zoology + Botany). Thus, that student is ranked higher in the merit list.
- If the tie continues, then the student with more marks in Chemistry is given preference.
- Furthermore, in case of a further tie, the student who has less number of incorrect responses is placed higher in the merit list.
- At last, if the tie continues, then the student who is older in age is ranked higher in the merit list.

NEET Counselling 2025
The NEET 2025 Counselling begins soon after the result declaration. In addition, the Directorate General of Health Sciences (DGHS) conducts the counselling round on the behalf of MCC (Medical Counselling Committee). Candidates’ are called for counselling as per the merit list. Moreover, seats are allotted to students on the basis of counselling. Wherein, students rank in the merit list, and eligibility is the factors for selection. The procedure of document verification is carried out on the same day. Thus, the students have to carry a set of documents as well. Further, candidates should have both the originals and photocopies. The list of documents you should have is as follows:
