Veterinary Council of India conducts the online centralized counselling for the candidates who want to enrolled for undergraduate Bachelor of Veterinary Science & (B.V.Sc) & Animal Husbandry (A.H) programme into veterinary colleges of participating states. It does not conduct any entrance examination, however, it conducts online counselling on the basis of NEET exam score.

Before participating in the counselling procedure of AIPVT 2018, Candidates must go through eligibility criteria set by the Veterinary Council of India. Candidates applying for admission into veterinary college must meet the following eligibility criteria.
Eligibility Criteria for AIPVT 2018
Following are the main eligibility criteria related to age, citizenship, qualifying examination, qualifying marks and subject combination

2. | Age | Candidate must have completed the age of 17 years on or before the 31st December 2018. Further, maximum age should not exceed to 25 years on or before 31.12.2018. There shall be a relaxation of maximum age by five years for Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) or Other Backward Class (OBC) candidates.

3. | NEET Exam 2018 | Candidates must have appeared in NEET exam 2018. |
4. | Qualifying Examination | For General category: Candidate must have passed the class 12th with and qualify in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology and English (as a core course) with 50% aggregate marks from the recognized board or an examination equivalent to intermediate science examination of an Indian University or Board recognized by the Association of Indian Universities taking Physics, Chemistry and Biology including a practical test in each of these subjects and English. For SC/ST/PwD category: In respect of candidates belonging to the SC /ST/PwD or other category of students as specified by the Government, marks required for admission shall be 5% less than that prescribed for general category i.e 47.5 % |
Seat Reservation of AIPVT 2018
As per the reservation policy of Government of India, a definite number of seats are reserved for the candidates belonging to categories other than general. Students claiming reservation are required to produce valid supporting documents in the prescribed format at the time of counselling in order to avail the benefit of AIPVT 2018 reservation of seats. Reservation of seats for AIPVT 2018 for different categories are as follows

The candidate should produce the following certificate in original, if applicable, at the allotted College at the time of reporting/admission.

2. | For OBC (Other Backward Class) | OBC Certificate as per format given in Annexure 3 (available in the official information brochure) should be issued by the Competent Authority and should be in English or Hindi. If it is in regional language then it should be translated in English/Hindi and should be attested by Class I Gazetted Officer. The sub-caste should tally with the Central List of OBC. OBC Candidates should not belong to Creamy layer. |
3. | For Physically Handicapped | The disability should be certified by a duly constituted and authorized Medical Board comprising of at least three specialists out of which two should be of 9 the specialty concerned and the candidate has to present him/her self before the Medical Board. The last valid disability certificate of the candidate from a Medical Board should not be more than three months old from the date of submitting his/her certificate for disabled candidates. The format of Locomotor Disability Certificate to be produced is given in Annexure 4 (available in the official information brochure). PHYSICAL DISABILITY A candidate shall not be allowed admission to BVSc&AH degree course including those admitted under 15% reserved quota of VCI if he or she suffers the following disabilities, namely:-

4. | For Jammu and Kashmir candidates | The candidates from Jammu & Kashmir who have uploaded Self Declaration claiming their eligibility under 15% All India Quota shall have to submit an affidavit as per Annexure 5 (available in the official information brochure) on Non-Judicial Stamp Paper of Rs. 10/- duly attested by Metropolitan Magistrate/First Class Judicial Magistrate. |
