Candidate must meet the Eligibility Criteria in order to apply for Goa Common Entrance Test exam 2018. Applicants can fill up and submit the application form offline only if they fulfill the eligibility criteria set by the examination conducting authority.

GCET is a state level entrance exam. Through this exam, students get enrolled for under graduate course in various Programmes in the field of Engineering, Architecture, Pharmacy and Homeopathy offered by the Government and Private colleges/institutions of Goa.

In order to apply for GCET 2018 exam, Candidates have to download and take a printout of the application form(A) which will be tentatively available at the official website in the month of March 2018 till April 2018. The offline mode (i.e pen – paper based) exam will be held on 8th and 9th May, 2018.

Eligibility Criteria for GCET 2018

Aspirants who are willing to apply for the Goa State CET exam must adhere to all the eligibility criteria issued by the authority. If the Candidates do not satisfy the eligibility criteria, then they will not be permitted to sit for the exam. So, applicants must check the GCET 2018 Eligibility Criteria and norms once before the offline application submission.

Given below are the main eligibility criteria for GCET 2018 which includes eligibility requirements related to age, citizenship, qualifying examination, qualifying marks, domicile, subject combination, category etc. for admission to various courses like B.E., B.Pharm.,BAMS., Allied Health and Science & B.Sc Nursing.

2.Age criteriaCandidates applying for GCET 2018 should not be less than 17 years of age as on 31st December 2017.
3.Domicile of GoaStudent who have applied to general category must have studied and passed 12 standard or equivalent examination from school/colleges in the state of Goa and should be a resident of Goa for a minimum period of 10 years and 5 years for those whose either of the parent/grandparent is born in Goa immediately preceding the last date/month of application.

Should be son/daughter of government of Goa deputations or employees posted outside Goa and must have passed the qualifying examination from CBSE, New Delhi or other recognized state board.

Any period spent by the applicant outside Goa on account of posting/leave/training/deputation of either of his/her parents being the Goa state government employee or under scheme of exchange programme as the student of Navodaya Vidyalaya from Goa shall be counted towards the continuous residence of 10 years.

Domicile of other states (OGA Category/Non-Domicile of Goa)An applicant from other states, who has passed the qualifying examination from schools and colleges outside the state of Goa, but within the Indian union, and fulfills academic eligibility shall be eligible for admission under OGA (Outside Goa Applicants) Category for any seats that remain vacant after admitting all the candidates.

Foreign Nationals

Non – resident Indians holding Indian passport may also apply for seats reserved for NRI category

Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) / Persons of Indian origin (PIO) cardholders are considered eligible for admissions to seats under NRI category.

Foreign nationals must apply to Govt of India.

Basic Academic Qualification

The applicant should have passed class 12th from Goa board of secondary and higher secondary education or any examination conducted by the central board of secondary education, New Delhi or any other equivalent examination. In case of Physically Handicapped category, the candidates are required to secure minimum of 40% marks.

2MBBS/BDS/BHMS/BAMSShould have studied English as a compulsory subject with Physics, Chemistry and Biology and secured minimum 50% marks overall.

The Candidates belonging to SC, ST and OBC Category are required to score 40% aggregate marks and 45% marks in case of Physically Challenged category.

Candidates must appear in the NEET 2017 and must have NEET 2017 Score Card.

3B.ArchThe Candidates should have studied Mathematics as one of the subjects and secured at least 50% marks in aggregate (45%  aggregate in case of SC/ST/OBC).

Candidate who have 10+3 diploma in any stream recognized by central/state governments with 50% aggregate marks are also eligible to apply.

Candidates who have appeared and secured a minimum 80 out of 200 Marks in NATA  exam are eligible for admission to B.Arch.

4B. Sc in NursingApplicants should have passed HSCC (qualifying Exam) in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and also obtained minimum 45% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology for general category, (40% aggregate marks in subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology for Candidates belonging to SC, ST and OBC Category).

GCET Eligibility Criteria 2018 : Kashmiri Migrants

Candidates who belong to Kashmiri Migrants Category should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Class XII) examination or its equivalent examination with English, Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with one of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology and secured not less than 45% marks in the subjects Physics & Mathematics with one of the following Subjects Chemistry / Bio- Technology / Computer Science /Biology.

GCET Eligibility Criteria 2018: B.Sc degree holder

Candidates who have passed Diploma in Engineering/B.Sc. degree with Mathematics as one of the subjects in 10+2 with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC), shall be eligible for admission to first year of engineering degree courses, if there is a vacancy.
