NEET 2018 Deemed/Central Universities Eligibility required

Candidates declared Qualified/Eligible for All India Quota Undergraduate Seats (MBBS/BDS) only will be eligible for online allotment process in Demmed/central universities which is conducted by the MCC. For State Quota, Private medical and dental college seats, the candidates are required to contact the appropriate State Government/ Admission Authority & Directorate of Medical Education. The eligibility criteria to apply for Deemed/ Central University are as follows

  • It is necessary for an applicants to secure a minimum marks of 50th Percentile in NEET UG 2018 Exam.
  • A candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually. They also need to secure a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology at the qualifying exam.

NEET 2018 Online registration counselling

Registration for NEET 2018 in Deemed/ Central University Counselling for admission to MBBS programme has started on 13th June 2018. Link to register is provided below. Choice locking and filling

After successfully completing the online registration, candidates have to fill in choice of Institutions/colleges/courses in order of your preference. Once choice has been made, it can be modified before locking it. During the choice locking period, it is necessary to lock the choices to get a print of your submitted choices. If the candidate does not lock the choice submitted by him/her, it will be automatically locked at 5.00PM of the last date of choice locking

If you don’t register and fill in choices during the registration period, you will not be allotted any seat. Please also note that registration will be available once before allotment of round-1 and once before starting of round-2.

NEET 2018 seat allotment Counselling under Deemed/Central universities

The Deemed/ Central University seat allotment list shall contain names of the qualified candidate’s and college allotted to them. This list is prepared based on the scores obtained by the individual candidate in the NEET 2018. The length of the seat allotment list will be as long as the number of seats that are available for allotting the applicants for MBBS programme. A waiting list, which equals to four times of the merit list will also be prepared if it’s required by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Get rank letter to participate in counselling – The candidates who will be qualified for Deemed/Central Universities seats on the basis of their rank in NEET UG conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) are only eligible for MCC Counselling. The procedure of online allotment

The procedure of online seat allotment for Deemed/Central universities is provided below. Candidates who are willing to apply under Deemed/Central universities need to follow the below given steps:

  5. Reporting at the allotted Medical/Dental College against 1st Round
  6. Publication of net vacant seats
  7. Fresh Choice and registration Submission by eligible candidates for round 2
  8. Process of Seat Allotment – Round 2
  9. Round 2 Result Publication
  10. Reporting at the Medical / Dental Colleges /Institutions against Round
  11. End of 15 % All India Counselling and reverting of Non Joined , Not Alloted seats to state quota

NEET 2018 Counselling process

After choice filling and locking of colleges by the registered candidates, MCC will prepare and publish the list of the candidates along the name of the colleges allotted to them. This marks the first round of counselling. The length of the merit list will depend on the number of seats available in the participating medical colleges. Candidates who are satisfied with the seat allotment need to report at the respective colleges.

Procedure to participate in the 2nd round of counselling

Fresh set of seats gets added to the system (seats available during round-1), if any, which is due to latest approvals of MCI. Further, the conversion of seats is also carried out during the round 2 of seat allotment and accordingly, the candidates are required to be shown all choices which are against vacant, newly added seats, virtual vacancies which are likely to get vacated during up-gradation

The choices of candidates, who have submitted option for participation in the second round during the reporting period for the first round seat allotment, would be initialized (the choices remaining after allotment, submitted before round-1 will stand cancelled), and candidates are required to submit fresh choices online during the time the window is open for the same. Choices which were filled during 1st round of choice filling will be null & void.

Mock Counselling (result)/ indicative seat allotment

During Mock Counselling, choices submitted by the candidates will be processed during the counselling period of round-1, as mentioned in Counseling Schedule and indicative seat that is likely to be available at that point of time would be displayed. This helps the candidate to refine the selection of choices in a more effective and efficient manner. Indicative allotment of the seat (Mock allotment), will be shown on notified dates.

Deemed/ Central University Counselling and Seat allotment

Candidates allotted seats will be required to join the allotted college/course within the stipulated time which is mentioned in counselling schedule. However, candidates are advised to join as early as possible and not to wait for last day of joining. Therefore, candidates are advised to contact allotted college immediately after the declaration of result of counselling allotment process. If candidate fails to join the allotted Medical/Dental College within the stipulated time, then the allotted seat will be cancelled and candidate will not be eligible for further Round(s) of the online Counseling. Please note that under no circumstances date of joining can be extended by the MCC.

Documents required at the time of joining to the alloted institute.

Original documents (along with attested photocopies of documents) for admission to undergraduate medical courses for admission to Deemed/ Central Universities seats on all-India basis required at the time of joining in allotted Medical / Dental College are as mentioned below.

  1. Admit Cards of Exam issued by Central Board of Secondary
  2. Education (CBSE).
  3. Result/ Rank letter issued by CBSE.
  4. Date of Birth Certificate (if Metric Certificate does not bear the same)
  5. Class 10th Certificate
  6. Class 10+2 Certificate
  7. Class 10+2 Marks Sheet
  8. Eight (8) Passport size photograph same as affixed on the application
  9. form.
  10. Provisional allotment letter generated online.
  11. Proof of identity.
  12. Caste certificate (if applicable)
