DET Odisha Diploma 2025 Eligibility Criteria

The official DHE Odisha Diploma counselling authority prepares a set of eligibility criteria for the students who want to participate in the DET Odisha Counselling 2025. Based on qualifying examination marks, a particular rank is allotted. Interested students are advised to go through the below-mentioned eligibility criteria carefully before filling up the registration form. Eligibility conditions are different for different categories.

Eligibility criteria for admission to 1st-semester diploma in engineering/technology.

DET Odisha Polytechnic Online Form 2025

Candidates who fulfill the required eligibility criteria must register to participate in the DET Odisha Counselling 2025. The DET Odisha Application Form is available online from May 2025. The link to apply online will be subsequently provided here. If an applicant belongs to some special category, then he/she should mention it during registration. Furthermore, applicants need to upload the scanned image, pay the application fee and finally submit it. Also, take the printout of the filled up online application form of DHE Odisha Polytechnic for future use.

DET Odisha Diploma Type of Domicile 2025

The Directorate of Technical Education & Training has made three types of domicile based on the category. The (S-Domicile) belongs to Odisha State Candidates, (Z – Domicile) belongs to Outside State Candidates and (L – Domicile) is for Odias living in outlying Odia speaking tracts. The category to the domicile along with the conditions are mentioned below. Candidates applying for DET Odisha admission must check the domicile categories carefully before applying.

Odisha State Candidates (S – Domicile)

For admission to Engineering Schools/ Polytechnics under State Domicile, a candidate has to satisfy at least one of the following criteria.

i) The Candidate must have passed H.S.C/ 10 examination declared equivalent by BSE, Odisha from any of the recognized institutions in the State.

ii) Parents of the candidate must be permanent residents of Odisha. To claim benefit under this class, the candidate shall furnish a permanent resident certificate from a Revenue Officer not below the rank of Addl. Tahasildar of the area where his/her parents have permanent residence in Form-V.

iii) Sons/ daughters/ spouse of the permanent employees of the Government of Odisha/ Government of India/ Government of Odisha undertakings/ Government of India undertaking serving in the State of Odisha at the time of application are also included under the category. To claim this benefit under this S-Domicile, the candidate has to submit a certificate from the Employer of his/her parents/spouse in the prescribed form in Form-IV.

iv) The reservation facility will be made available to the children/wards of All India Civil Service Officers serving in the State at par with the natives of Odisha except the reservations being extended to ST, SC and SEBC categories so far as admission to Professional / Technical Institutions in the State is concerned.

NB: A candidate coming under ‘S’ domicile, but not a permanent resident of Odisha is not eligible to claim reservation. However, the children/ ward of all India Civil Service Officers serving in the State can avail the reservation in all categories except ST&SC.

Outside State Candidates (Z – Domicile)

(A) Any candidate who does not satisfy any of the criteria for the „S‟ Domicile will be treated as outside State Candidate (Z). 15% seats are reserved for „Z‟ candidates in 1 Semester of Private Polytechnics /Engineering Schools only.

(B) “Z” domicile candidates are also eligible to take admission under Lateral entry provided they have prosecuted their study for the qualifying examination in an institute having approval from the competent authority after exhaustion of state merit list.

(C) “Z” candidates have to submit Residential Certificate from the competent authority of their State

Odias living in outlying Odia speaking tracts (L – Domicile)

0.5% seats are reserved for Odia students living in the outlying Odia speaking tracts in 1 Semester/ year only.

DET Odisha Diploma Merit List 2025

After receiving all the applications from all the eligible candidates, the official authority prepares a separate merit list. The DET Odisha merit list is subsequently drawn on the basis of marks secured by a candidate in the qualifying examination. The official authority publishes one “General Merit List” for all candidates seeking admission to Diploma Engineering/Technology courses. In addition, a separate merit list of DET Odisha will subsequently also be drawn for candidates qualifying under each of the reservation categories. Furthermore, a separate merit list of all qualifying candidates for Non-Engineering courses is drawn.

Preparation of DET Odisha Merit List – Tie-breaking criteria

1. Semester Diploma in Engg./ Technology, Non-Engg. (Beauty Culture only) and Part-Time:

Candidates having equal marks in the qualifying examination, the candidates with a higher percentage of marks in mathematics will be placed at a higher rank. If the candidates have the same percentage of marks in Mathematics, the candidates having a higher percentage of marks in science will be placed at a higher rank.

If the candidates have the same percentage of marks in Science, then the candidates having a higher percentage of marks in English will be placed at a higher rank. For candidates having the same percentage of marks in English, the senior in age will be placed at a higher rank.

2. Semester/ Year Diploma in Non-Engineering (Except Beauty Culture):

For candidates having equal marks in the qualifying examination, the candidates with a higher percentage of marks in English will be placed at a higher rank. For candidates having the same percentage of marks in English, the senior in age will be placed at a higher rank.

Odisha Diploma 2025 Institution Details & Seat Intake

DET Odisha Diploma Polytechnic Counselling 2025

DET Odisha Diploma 2025 Counselling starts tentatively from July 2025. The candidate needs to register by visiting the official website. The link to register for counselling of Odisha DET will be provided here. During the counselling procedure, candidates need to fill and lock the choice of colleges. Furthermore, based on the merit and choice filling, candidates will be allotted seats. The DET Odisha merit listed candidate need to report at the designated document verification centre within the specified date and time.

Document Required at Reporting Venue

DET Odisha Diploma 2025 Applicants must report personally with the downloaded DHE Online Odisha application form and registration slip at the time, date, and venue as per the schedule of e-Admission. He/ She is also required to produce the following original documents as applicable at the time of reporting at the NCC. The set of original documents required to carry is mentioned below.

  • Pass certificate of High School Certificate (HSC) examination awarded by BSE, Odisha /10 standard examination certificate declared equivalent by BSE, Odisha in support of qualifying examination.
  • Mark sheet of HSC examination awarded by BSE, Odisha/10 standard examination declared equivalent by BSE, Odisha securing minimum marks as per the eligibility criteria.
  • Caste Certificate (SC/ST) from the competent authority issued in the proforma in Form-I / the prescribed format of the competent authority.
  • Sports Certificate issued/countersigned by the Director of Sports & Youth Services, Odisha or by the competent authority as declared by the Govt. from time to time.
  • NCC certificate (A, B or C) from the appropriate authority (in case of candidates claiming reservation under NCC) Green Card of the parent issued by concerned CDMO (in case of candidates claiming seats under Green Card category).
  • Certificate from the competent authority for reservation under Ex-Servicemen Quota.
  • Domicile of the candidate
  • Medical fitness certificate from Government Doctor.

Original Documents Required at Reporting Center

(i) Final downloaded Seat Allotment Letter from the website.

(ii) Fee deposit slip (institute copy) in respect of seat allotment.

(iii) Conduct Certificate and SLC/ CLC from the institution last studied.

(iv) Recent passport size photographs duly attested.

(v) Migration Certificate in case of candidates passing 10th standard examination from any Board other than Board of Secondary Education, Odisha.
