Merit List for CUSAT CAT 2018

B. Tech Marine Engineering Rank list was released on 22nd June 2018. Based on the marks secured by the candidates in the CUSAT CAT Examination, Merit List is prepared by the official authority. Merit list contains names of the shortlisted candidates who are eligible for the counselling round. Merit List is prepared for all the programmes separately. The merit list will be published on the official website after some days of the cut-off declaration.

Counselling of CUSAT CAT 2018

The Counselling schedule has been released online at the official website on 12th june 2018. Candidates need to fill their choice of colleges in order of their preference. The admission authority will allot seat to the qualified candidates as per their rank, choice of course and seat availability.

Admit Card of CUSAT CAT 2018

CUSAT CAT Admit Card / Hall Ticket must be carried to the examination hall on exam day. The official authority had issued the admit card for CUSAT CAT online at the official website for the registered candidates only. Registered applicants could access the admit card online from 17th to 29th April 2018. Admit Card carry the name of the candidate, examination city and address of the venue, examination date and time, roll number and registration number.

Eligibility Criteria for CUSAT CAT 2018

Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) offers various courses in the field of B.Tech, M.Sc (Photonics, Computer Science, Marine), B.Com LL.B., BBA LL.B., MIP-PhD,  LLM-PhD, MA, MCA/MCA (Lateral Entry ), MVoc, LLB, MFSc. Applicants are instructed to check the eligibility criteria required for particular course/programme in which they want to get enrolled in before filling up the application form for CUSAT CAT 2018.

Indian as well as foreign citizens are eligible to apply for the examination. The eligibility criteria vary to apply for CUSAT CAT 2018 for all the courses offered by the University.  To apply and attend for the exam, applicants must satisfy the eligibility criteria. Candidates must qualify in the CUSAT CAT 2018 Exam to get enrolled for the course of their choice in the Institute. Some of the common eligibility criteria for admission to B.Tech, M. Tech and MBA courses is mentioned below.

    • Minimum 50% marks is required in Mathematics individually and 50% marks in PCM putting together for general category candidates.
    • 5% relaxation in qualifying marks is provided to the Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) candidates of state Kerala belonging to non-creamy layer category.
2.B.Tech Marine Engineering
  • Candidate’s age should not be more than 25 years as on 1st September 2018.
  • Candidate must have passed in 10+2 examination or an equivalent examination with PCM and English and securing at least 60% aggregate marks in PCM and 50% marks individually in Mathematics.
  • Should have passed English at 10th and 12th standard with 50% marks.
  • Vocational/diploma candidates are not eligible to apply.
3.BBA/LL.B. (Hons)/B.Com.LL.B. (Hons.)
  • Maximum age is 20 years as on 1st July 2018 (22 years for SC/ST and OBC candidates)
  • Candidate must have passed in class 12th board examination with 60% marks (for science group) and 55% marks (for Arts/Commerce/Humanities group).
4.LL.B.
  • Graduation in any discipline from a University recognized from CUSAT by securing 40% aggregate marks (35% for SC/ST).
  • Candidates in last year of their graduation in 2018 may also apply.
5.MCAScience graduate with Mathematics as one of the subjects or graduate in Electronics/Information Technology /Computer Science  /Computer Applications/ Engineering/Technology with 55% aggregate marks (except language & humanities).
6.M. Voc in Technology and Management ConsultingBachelor’s degree in Engineering (in any branch) with 60% marks in MBA or B.Voc degree in relevant discipline with at least 60% marks.
7.LL.M.Bachelor’s degree in law with minimum 45% marks.
NOTE 1: Percentage of marks and subject combination required to appear in the exam is different for all courses. This depend on the choice of course made by the applicants in which they want to get enrolled in via CUSAT CAT 2018 Exam. Before registering for the exam, applicants are instructed to read the Admission Brochure of CUSAT CAT 2018.

NOTE 2: Admission to MBA course in CUSAT will be done through CAT (conducted by IIMs)/MAT or CMAT while admission into the M.Tech course is done through GATE scores. Department Admission Test (DAT) for M.Tech will be conducted only if sufficient GATE qualified candidates are not available. 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks will be provided to the GATE qualified candidates.

Exam Pattern for CUSAT CAT 2018

CUSAT conducts Common Admission Test for enrollment to the various programme. Subject combination and number of question is not same for CUSAT CAT 2018. The question paper will depend on the choice of the courses/programmes made by the candidate. Examination Center for CUSAT CAT 2018

Exam centre is a place where the examination is being conducted. CUSAT Common Admission Test will take place in many cities across India and Dubai. Answer Key for CUSAT CAT 2018

Candidates who appeared in CUCSAT CAT Examination can check and tally their answers with the answer key. The official authority will release the answer key for all the programmes separately. Candidates can access the answer key online by visiting the official website tentatively on 1st week of May 2018. Applicants can analyze their score with the help of answer key.

Result of CUSAT CAT 2018

The result of CUSAT CAT has been declared by the official authority after the examination is conducted. Candidates could view and download the CUSAT CAT result for the year 2018 online from 6th June 2018. The result will contain the Course, category and rank obtained in the entrance examination.

Cut-off for CUSAT CAT 2018

The official examination authority prepares the cut-off or minimum qualifying marks for the CUSAT CAT. The cut-off marks will be declared after few days of result declaration. Candidates can check the cut-off on the official website. Applicants need to secure equal or more than cut-off marks to be eligible for the subsequent rounds. Candidates are advised to tally their marks obtained in the exam with the cut-off mark for CUSAT 2018 in order to find themselves eligible or not for the subsequent rounds.

 

Seat Reservation of CUSAT CAT 2018

A certain percentage of the seat is reserved for the candidates belonging to different categories in all the participating Institute/Colleges. A certain amount of academic fee is also waived to the applicants belonging to special categories. Aspirants need to fill their respective category while filling up the application form. Students claiming reservation are required to produce valid supporting documents in the prescribed format at the time of counselling in order to avail the benefit of reservation of seats. There are various reserved categories against which certain number are reserved in the Institute.
