BITS HD Examination will be held on 15th and 20th of May. The Birla Institute of Technology and Science will conduct the Examination for Higher Degree Courses. Candidates wanting to pursue their degrees in M.E/M.Pharma can apply for the courses. The Applications is released by the BITS by the third week of March. The candidates have to apply for the forms on the official Website of BITS. After the filling up of the form, the candidates have to submit the filled forms to the designated Address by speed post. Candidates should know that they can only submit one form. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can only apply the forms for BITS. The forms will be canceled by the Authorities if the candidates submit the forms even after they do not fulfill the eligibility criteria.

Candidates should follow the Examination pattern that is set by the Examination Authorities. The Candidates should follow the official syllabus. The chances of cracking the Examination get higher when they follow the syllabus offered by the BITS Authorities. BITS will have two tests, Test-I and Test-II. Following the Examination Pattern, candidate comes to know the Examination model that the Authorities follow such as the Marking scheme, Duration of the Examination, and the type of questions are set in the Examination. The language in which the Question paper will be set is English.

The candidates in order to keep themselves updated should follow the notifications notified by the Examination Authorities. They should keep a note on the important dates that are related to the Examination. This would help them a lot and they will not miss important updates. BITS HD Examination Pattern
The Examination will be divided into two parts. Test-I and Test-II. The common factor for all the candidates with different disciplines is that the Examination will be held online and the language will be English.
Test-I –The Test-I will be common for all the candidates with different disciplines. The total duration that will be allotted to the candidates is 60 minutes. The questions that will be set is Multiple Choice Questions. Each question will be given four choices of Answers and the candidates have to chose the right choice out of four. The total number of question will be 30.
The syllabus for the test -I are:
- Core Mathematics
- English Language Skills & Logical Reasonings.
Test-II- This test is compulsory for the all the candidates appearing for the Higher Degree courses. The candidates who will apply for the System software Admissions. The total duration that will be allotted to the candidates is 105 minutes or 1 hour 45 minutes. The questions that will be set is Multiple Choice questions where candidates will be given four choices to answer. There will be 70 questions in total in the paper-II. A question will score three marks for a right answer. But if the candidate gives a wrong answer 1 mark will be deduced. The Test -II will have Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Pharmacy, Computer Science, Instrumentation, Biological Science, Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics and Physics as their topics.
Software System: The candidates who will opt for the Software system will have to appear for a special paper. The time allotted for the candidates to complete the paper will be 60 minutes or one hour. There will be a total of 50 questions. The questions will be Multiple Choice Questions and the candidates have to follow the same system while marking their answer. The questions are set by the Examination from a large question Bank and the questions will be set differently for different candidates. The Examination Authorities makes sure that the difficulty level, content, question type are comparable.
Syllabus for BITS HD
The Test-I there will be two sessions- Mathematics and English. The topics that the will be covered under Mathematics is Calculus, Linear Equations, Algebra, Complex variables, probability, statistics, differential proportion and numerical methods. In English section candidate’s ability and knowledge in Grammar, Vocabulary, their ability to read and comprehend as well as logical reasoning and Verbal Reasoning. In the Test-II the syllabus will vary with different specialization the candidates have taken. They should check the main syllabus and sample papers of BITS HD 2018. The candidates that are appearing for the Special Test are required to study structured programming of C, Advanced programming in C, Object orientation, and Software Engineering, Database systems, Core systems. Candidates can also check the sample papers while preparing for the Examination. Solving sample papers helps the candidates to bring accuracy, saves their time and also helps them to find different ways of problem-solving.
Important Features of BITS HD 2018
- The questions will differ with different students. The question will be selected from a large question bank.
- The test will be held online and it is expected from the candidates that the candidates should have the minimum knowledge of computer. They should have at least have the basic familiarity with the keyboard and mouse handling.
- Any candidates who will break the rules of the test centers will be debarred from the Examination
- While setting up the questions, the factors that the Examination Authority will keep in mind is content, difficulty level and the type of questions.
- Candidates will not be allowed any electronic Gadgets like mobile phones, pagers, blue tooth headsets inside the Examination. The candidates will be terminated by the Authorities if in case any of these illegal gadgets are found in the Examination.
