Institute of Technology, Nirma University, was earlier known as Nirma Institute of Technology. It was a self-financed Engineering college in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The Computer Engineering(CE) Department offers B. Tech programme in Computer Engineering, M. Tech programmes in Computer Science and Engineering and Information and Network Security, Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme and Ph.D. programme in Computer Science and Engineering. The Institute of Technology will conduct the Nirma University B. Tech Admissions for the academic year 2018-19. The admissions to the undergraduate engineering course will be granted on the basis of the JEE Main score for the 35% of seats while 50% of seats will be covered by candidates who will apply for the admission procedure on the basis of GUJCET score. About Nirma B. Tech 2018 Admissions

Institute of Technology conducts the Nirma University admissions 2018 for all the candidates planning to pursue engineering at the undergraduate level. The application form to apply for the admission procedure had been released online on the official website. There are at least 840 seats in the institution and to seek admissions to these seats, candidates must follow the admission procedure carefully. Before filling up the application form, candidates must make sure to check the eligibility criteria laid down by the admission conducting authority. After some time, Nirma university will release a provisional and a final merit list. Those who are listed on the final merit list will then be called for counselling and seat allotment procedure.

Eligibility Criteria for Nirma B. Tech admissions 2018

Before fill up the application form, the candidate must check whether he/she is eligible to participate in the admission procedure or not. Nirma University has laid down certain parameters and the applicant must make sure that he fulfills all the criteria. If ineligible candidates fill the application form, their candidature will be canceled during the verification process.

The Nirma B. Tech Admission 2018 eligibility criteria are stated below:

  • Candidate should have appeared in JEE Main 2018.
  • Candidates must have passed class 12th examination with Physics, chemistry, and mathematics as compulsory subjects.
  • 35% of seats are reserved for All India quota under which seats will be filled by candidates who have passed the qualifying exam from schools located in India (including Gujarat State) and have appeared for JEE (Main) 2018 examination.
  • 15% of the seats are reserved for the NRI candidates.
  • The rest 50% of seats will be filled by those students who have studied from schools in Gujarat, Diu, Dadra Nagar Haveli and have qualified the GUJCET 2018 exam. These candidates have to apply separately through ACPC and GOG. The eligibility criteria for these students will be according to the ones laid down by ACPC.

Nirma University Application Form and Fees

The application form for the admissions to Nirma University was released in the 2nd week of February 2018 and the deadline to submit the application form was 11th June 2018. All applicants must keep a scanned copy of their photograph, signature, and JEE Main admit card ready before filling up the application form. Applicants have to first register on the official website to create an account and a login id and password will be sent to the candidate on his/her registered email-ID. After logging in, candidates will be required to select the institute, programme and the category in which the candidates fall. The next step in application form filling to fill in essential details like personal details, academic details, contact details and JEE Main information like the JEE Main roll number and the scores obtained in the exam. Candidates will also be asked to upload the scanned images of the necessary documents. The applicant has to pay an application fee which is different for different categories. Candidates who have passed class 12th from Gujarat, Diu, Dadra Nagar Haveli have to pay an application fee of Rs. 350 whereas candidates from other states of India have to pay an amount of Rs. 1200. The payment has to be made through online modes like net banking, credit card or debit card. After submitting the application form, candidates must remember to take a print out of the same for future references. No candidate should provide false information while filling up the form.

Nirma University Merit List

The merit list for admissions to B. Tech course in Nirma University was released in the form of a provisional and final merit list for those candidates who have applied. The list has been prepared on the basis of JEE Main score and the qualifying examination marks of class 12th of the candidate. The ratio for both these marks will be 60:40 respectively. Only those candidates who have been named below the merit list will be called for seat allotment procedure.

Nirma University B. Tech Counselling

The eligible candidates will be able to participate in counselling and seat allotment. The counselling of Nirma University admissions 2018 will include filling of choices in the online application form, locking of those choices, allotment of seats, payment of the tuition fee, verification of the documents and reporting to the allotted institute. The seats will be allotted on the basis of the JEE Main rank, availability of seats and the choices of the programme filled by the candidate. Once the seats are allotted, candidates must select any one of the four options that are provided to them to confirm their admission or their admission will be canceled automatically.

Withdrawal of Admission

Those candidates who have been offered a seat in B. Tech course in Nirma University but wish to withdraw the admission will be required to send an email through the registered email ID that was used at the time of application form filling. In the mail, the candidate must mention his/her ITNU application number, ITNU merit number, allotted branch and attach a scanned copy of the admission order and fee payment receipt.

Refund of Fees after cancellation of Nirma University admissions 2018

If the candidate withdraws his/her admission on or before the 4th week of July 2018, the candidate will be refunded the tuition fees after deducting Rs. 1000. If the candidate withdraws admission on the 4th week of July 2018 after the specified time, the amount of fee that will be refunded will be according to the condition of the empty seat being filled by the institution, as per Admission Committee for Professional Courses rules
