Candidates who are interested to appear in Assam Combined Entrance Examination (Assam CEE) 2018 exam have to fill up the application form. Aspirants must fulfill all the eligibility conditions issued by the authority. If the candidates do not satisfy the eligibility conditions then they will not be permitted to sit for the exam. So, applicants must check the Assam CEE 2018 Eligibility Criteria and norms once before the online application submission.

 Assam CEE 2018 Basic Eligibility Criteria

Following are the main eligibility criteria related to age, citizenship, qualifying examination, qualifying marks and subject combination

1.NationalityCandidate must be a citizen of India and a Permanent resident of Assam.
2.Age(I)The Candidate must not above 21 years or below 17 years of age as on 1st August 2018.

Upper age limit mentioned IN (I) above is relaxed to 22 years in case of B.Sc. passed Candidates.

Upper age limit mentioned in (I) above is relaxed by 3 years for Scheduled Cast and Scheduled Tribe candidates.

3.Academic QualificationCandidate must have pass the qualifying 10+2 examination individually in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English subjects without any grace marks and must obtained a minimum of 50% (45 % in case of SC and 40 % in case of ST) in the subject of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together from a recognized university/board of any Indian state.

Assam CEE 2018 Seat Reservation

The Government of Assam reserves a definite number of seats in every participating institute for the candidates belonging to special categories such as Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Physically Disabled and Defence Categories. Candidates have to mention their reservation category while filling the application form (A) of Assam CEE 2018. The seat reserved for different categories are as follows :-

Eligibility Criteria for Reserved Category Candidates

Students claiming reservation are required to produce valid supporting documents in the prescribed format at the time of counselling in order to avail the benefit of Assam CEE reserved seats. The documents that have to be produced by the candidates belonging to different categories at the time of counselling are as follows:-

3.Son, Daughter, Grand- Son and Grand –Daughter of freedom fightersCandidates applying against reserved seats of Son, Daughter, Grand- Son and Grand –Daughter of freedom fighters must attach two certificates: – (i) Freedom Fighter certificate from the Principal Private Secretary to the Chief Minister, Assam certifying the Freedom Fighter and

(ii) Certificate from D.C./ authorized official by D.C., stating the direct relationship of the candidate with the freedom fighter.

4.Physically Challenged candidatesFor Physically Challenged candidates, Identity Card and Certificate from the State Level/District Level Medical Board (as constituted in pursuance of Social Welfare Department), must be produced at the time of Counseling/Admission. The disability percentage should be between 40% (minimum) and 80% (maximum).
5.NCC QuotaThe candidates applying against Reserved NCC Quota has to show the Original Copy and submit the photocopy of N.C.C. Examination Certificate from the Issuing Authority in the rank not below the Deputy Director General National Cadets Cops, Ministry of Defense Govt. of India. Certificates of merit (NCC Certificate) issued from the Head of the Institution / College/School will not be accepted. During the counseling for Admission, a candidate has to submit the original certificate from the issuing authority i.e. Issuing Authority in the rank of not below the Deputy. Director General National Cadets Cops, Ministry of Defense Govt. of India.
6.Sports quotaThe applicant against Reserved Sports quota seats must represent his/her State in National Games / Asian Games or Olympic Games.

The candidates must receive a medal at least at State level during preceding three years of appearing in the Entrance Examination for admission into Engineering Colleges.

7.First position Rank holder(s) in the Higher Secondary (Science) ExaminationThe First position Rank holder(s) in the Higher Secondary (Science) Examination of the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council provided he/she gets not less 85 % marks in aggregate in the year which they seek admission are exempted form giving the Assam CEE 2018 and such candidate can apply for direct admission within 10 days of publication of their qualifying examination to the Director of Technical Education, Assam, Kahilipara, Guwahati-19.

The OBC caste certificates issued by the following authorities (countersigned by authorities if required as shown below) will only be considered

  1. OBC, MLAs & MPs within the jurisdiction the respective district.
  2. Member of Advisory Council for Welfare of OBCs within the jurisdiction the respective district.
  3. President and General Secretary of All Assam OBC’s Association in respect of the entire State.
  4. President and Secretary of District Units of All Assam OBC’s Association within the jurisdiction of the Sub-Division.
  5. Chairman of Sub-Divisional Development Board for OBC’s within the jurisdiction of respective Sub Division.
  6. Sub-Divisional Welfare Officer within the jurisdiction of respective Sub-Division.

So, the interested candidate must read the eligibility criteria before filling up the application form for Assam combined entrance examination 2018. Candidates who belong to one of the above mentioned reserved categories must check whether they have the required documents to avail the benefit of seat reservation.
