Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test is an examination taken by students after completing their 10+2 for admission to the undergraduate course – Bachelors of Engineering (B.E), offered in various government and private institutes of Jammu and Kashmir. For the academic session of 2018-19, the exam is likely to be conducted on the 22nd of April 2018 in offline mode i.e. the exam will be held in pen and paper based mode. The application forms for the same will be made available online in the 2nd week of February 2018. The last date to fill the form is expected to be 28th February 2018. JKCET 2018 results will be declared in the 2nd week of June 2018. The counselling will commence tentatively from the 2nd week of August 2018.

All candidates who find their names on the merit list will be called for counselling. During counselling, candidates will have a chance to choose the course and college of their choice. Counselling will be held online and candidates will have to attend it in person with all the required documents. Candidates will also have to pay a counselling fee of Rs. 500/- which has to be paid at the POS terminal at BOPEE office, Srinagar or Jammu. Candidates can pay the counselling fees through the swap machine that will be available at the BOPEE office. Rank-wise counselling schedule will be published in two major newspapers of the state. The proper schedule will also be uploaded to the official website. Candidates will have to appear personally but in cases of unavoidable circumstances, if they are unable to come for the counselling, they can send their representative with the original documents, the payment receipt and authority letter stating that the allotment made on the choices of such representatives will be binding on him/her.
In exceptional cases where the board is satisfied after enough proof, that the candidate is an orphan/living in abject poverty, the Board may refund his/her counsellings fee if he/she fails to take admission because of reasons that are out of his control.

Withdrawal Of Admission
In case a candidate wishes to withdraw his admission, he/she can do so only in the first round of counselling. Only the counselling fee of Rs 500/– will be refunded. If he/she has paid the late fees because of late or missed admission, the amount will not be refunded.

JKCET 2018 Seat Allotment
Seats will be allocated to candidates after the counselling has been conducted. Seat Allotment will be based on the merit of the candidate and the choices filled by him during the counselling procedure. The candidates should indicate clearly multiple choices of disciplines/ institutions in the counselling form which they want to join in order of preference. Candidates must report to the allotted institute after the seats have been allotted.
Admission And Fee Structure
Candidates who successfully complete the counselling procedure will have to report to their respective institutes, pay the requisite college fee and complete all other admission formalities.

All eligible candidates have to report to the allotted institutes. In case a candidate fails to join the course, his/her admission will stand canceled and the seat will be filled by someone else. There will be maximum efforts on behalf of the board to provide a seat to the candidate with higher ranks and marks. In case he/she reports late or delays the counselling, he/she will be deprived of the seat in the course and institution of his/her choice/preference.
