JEE Advanced Result 2018 has been announced on the official website. This is a National Level Examination and is conducted every year on a rotational basis. JEE Advanced Examination is a gateway to the courses offered by UG, PG or UG-PG Dual Degree courses in Engineering, Sciences, Pharmaceutics. Through this examination, Admission will be offered to IITs and ISM. Candidates will be able to access their result using their Registration Number, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, and E-mail Id. The result of JEE Advanced was only available in the Online Mode. The rank list shall be released along with the JEE Advanced Result 2018. Candidates who qualify both Paper 1 and Paper 2 of JEE Advanced 2018, their names will be listed in the result. “There have been concerns expressed about the low number of qualified candidates in JEE Advanced 2018 as compared to previous years. Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India also expressed the desire of the ministry for increasing the number of qualified candidates so as to ensure that every category has at least twice the number of qualified candidates than the Number of seats,” read a statement by IIT Kanpur, the organising IIT for this year’s JEE Advanced.
“The issue was discussed in the fifth emergency meeting of Joint Admission Board held on June 14, 2018 at IIT Kanpur through video conferencing. It was decided that an extended merit list of JEE (Advanced) 2018 qualified candidates be released by lowering the aggregate cutoff marks of the candidates,” the statement added, stressing that this would not affect the list of previously declared qualified candidates.

JEE Advanced 2018 Result
JEE Advance 2018 result has been prepared by taking into account the marks of the total candidates who had appeared in the exam. Candidates who had appear in both Paper 1 and Paper 2 were able to check the result. Each candidate has been given the rank according to the total marks obtained in JEE Advanced 2018. Calculating JEE Advanced 2018 Score
To be qualified in the JEE Advanced 2018, the candidates have to appear for both the papers, Paper-I and Paper-II. So the tactics used while calculating the score are as:

Important Points about JEE Advanced result 2018
Candidates who had appeared in JEE Advanced may take a note of some important points given below.
- Candidates who had appeared in Paper 1 and Paper 2 of JEE Advanced will be listed in the JEE Advanced 2018 result.
- JEE Advanced result has been prepared by considering the total marks obtained by a candidate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
- Marks obtained by a candidate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be counted to get the total score on the basis of which JEE Advanced result 2018 will be prepared.
- A candidate has to score minimum prescribed marks. The result will not be generated for candidates who do not qualify JEE Advanced 2018.
- IIT Kanpur will not release any waiting list for the candidates. Candidates whose names will be listed in the result will be eligible for admission.
- If a candidate obtains the cut off of more than one category then such candidate will be considered in all the categories for ranking.
JEE Advanced 2018 Tie Breaking Conditions
Candidates whose marks scored will be same after adding the marks of Paper 1 and Paper 2 of JEE Advanced 2018, the rank of such candidates will be decided on the basis of following points.
- Candidates who will score less negative marks i.e. a maximum number of correct attempts will be given higher rank than others.
- If the tie still persists the candidate whose marks in Mathematics is more than others will be given better rank.
- In case of tie still continues then the candidate whose marks in Physics is more than others will be given better rank.
- If all the above measures fail, then candidates will be given the same rank.
