CA CPT 2018 – Dates, Application Form, Eligibility, Admit Card

CA CPT Exam will be held in May 2018. The Common Proficiency Test will take place in two sessions, which will be from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Common Proficiency Test (CA CPT) is conducted by Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for candidates who wish to pursue their career in Chartered Accountancy. It is an entry-level qualification test held twice a year-once in May and once in December. The candidates who will qualify CPT exam will be eligible to enroll themselves in IPCC (Intermediate Professional Competence Course) which will train them for the next level of Chartered Accountancy Course.

The exam of CA CPT will be conducted in two sessions. To appear in this exam candidates need to register themselves with Board of Studies (BOS). CA CPT Eligibility Criteria 2018

For sitting in the exam candidates are required to fulfil certain eligibility criteria defined by the Examination Body. In the first and foremost step candidates are required to get themselves registered for CA CPT May 2018. There are academic qualifications that are needed if the candidate wishes to appear in an exam. While filling the required academic details, the candidate is required to submit correct marks and documents as any discrepancy with the information could prohibit a candidate from appearing in an exam.

1. Candidates should have passed their 10th and 12th level qualifying examination from a recognized board or university or equivalent examination.
2. Candidates are required to get registered with ICAI for CPT course before 31st December 2017 for May 2018 examination.
3. Candidates who have completed their bachelors or master’s degree in commerce with at least 55% are exempted from appearing in CA CPT Exam.
4. Candidates who have completed their masters or bachelor’s degree in a stream other than commerce must have scored at least 60% aggregate marks in all subjects.
5. Candidates with an Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree from Open University are not eligible to appear for an entry level test.

CA CPT 2018 Application Form

For candidates who wish to appear for CA CPT Exam were supposed to get themselves register with Board of Studies. The forms will be available online and candidates who have got themselves registered will be able to access the application form. To apply, candidates need to click on the link http://icai.nic.in/caresult/ and get themselves registered with the required details. Candidates have to submit personal, educational and other details in the form and should make sure that the details entered are valid. The application form will be submitted only after the submission of the application fee.

The application fee for CA CPT Exam could be submitted through online mode using (Visa/Master) Debit/Credit card. The Application fee varies depending on the country exam is taking place.

CA CPT Exam Centers

CA CPT Exam of May 2018 conducted by ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India) will be held in as many as 245 exam centers across 191 test cities in India and five test cities abroad. Candidates will get the option of changing their exam centers if application correction window becomes available. The list of exam centers for CA CPT will be released by ICAI along with the notification on the official website.

CA CPT 2018 Exam Pattern, Marking Scheme

The exam of CA CPT will be held in Pencil paper mode and the test medium will be English or Hindi. Candidates must inform about their preferred medium in prior. Exam Pattern consists of 4 sections of 200 Marks. Sections that cover the exam are Fundamentals of Accounting, Mercantile law, General economics and quantitative aptitude. CA CPT 2018 Syllabus

The syllabus for CA CPT 2018 has not been officially announced but candidates can take reference from the below mentioned syllabus of 2017 which could help them in getting an idea of the possible questions that could come up in the exam.

CA CPT 2018 Admit Card / Hall Ticket

The admit card for CA CPT will be released online on the official website on icai.org. The candidates with successful registration will be able to download their admit card. Students will be required to log in and enter their valid password as asked on the website. Admit card is a necessary document to be carried on the exam day. The absence of admit card will prohibit the candidate from sitting for the exam. Students should also carry their valid Photo ID with admit card.

CA CPT 2018 Sample Paper

Sample paper for CA CPT Exam will be available online on the official website. Sample papers could be downloaded for free by the candidates. For reference, Candidates can look for Mock test paper of 2017 to help candidates prepare well for the exam.

CA CPT 2018 Answer key

ICAI does not release official answer key. However, like last year, Career360 might release answer keys by various coaching institutes. It will be helpful for candidates to cross verify their responses as marked by them in the examination. ICAI also provides candidates with the facility of getting their answer sheet re-evaluated. However, there will be certain charges in the case of revaluation.

CA CPT 2018 Result

ICAI hasn’t announced the result date for CA CPT May 2018 but updated information could be gathered from the official website. The result will be declared in online mode. Candidates who will appear for CA CPT Exam 2018 will be able to check their result after logging in their registered account. Qualified candidates will be able to download their CA CPT Result card, rank card, and certificate through ICAI registered account. ICAI will also intimate result to the qualified candidates through email ID and phone number.

CA CPT 2018 Cut off

Candidates appearing for CA CPT 2018 will need to score minimum qualifying marks in order to proceed to the next level of CA. Candidates can go through the last year’s cut-off for getting a reference for this year’s possible cut off. Have a look.
