MH CET Law 2019 Counselling – Maharashtra Common Entrance Test for Law (MH CET Law) is an entrance examination for the selection of candidates into BA LLB (5 years integrated) and LLB (3 years) courses offered at various colleges in Maharashtra. The allotment of seats to the candidates is to be based solely on merit as per the score in the MH CET Law 2019. The counselling for efficient allotment of seats is carried out by the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) again conducted by DHE, Maharashtra.

An overview of the steps involved in CAP is shown below:

  • The release of official notification and Information brochure for CAP.
  • Online Application formalities
  • Display of provisional lists
  • Display of Seat Matrix for CAP I and II
  • Filling The Option Form
  • Provisional Allotment and Payment of Acceptance Fee
  • ‘FREEZE’ or ‘FLOAT’ the Allotted Seat
  • CAP Round III
  • Reporting And Confirmation Of Admission

The various steps of CAP are elaborated below:

  1. Publishing of Official notification and Information Brochure for CAP

    The competent authority will be releasing the official notification regarding CAP on their official website. The information Brochure describing the entire process and the requirements shall also be published. The official websites for the BA LLB (5 years) and LLB (3 years) are as follows:

    • BA LLB (5 years integrated): llb5.mhpravesh.in
    • LLB (3 years): llb3.mhpravesh.in
  2. Online Application Form for CAP

    All the candidates aspiring to get enrolled into the BA LLB and LLB courses offered by colleges in Maharashtra must get themselves registered on the official websites of their competent authorities llb5.mhpravesh.in and llb3.mhpravesh.in respectively.

    The registration can be done in the following steps:

    • Visit the official websites of the competent authority mentioned above for the course you have applied for.
    • Click on the link ‘New Registration’.
    • Fill the application form providing all the information asked for.
    • A Unique Application ID shall be generated for you. You can use it to login and complete the application process.
    • Verify your details before final submission. You can edit your details before that by clicking on “Already Registered Candidate”.
    • Take a printout of the application form and keep it safe. You shall have to produce it at the time of reporting at the allotted institute.
    • Changes, if any, can be made by logging in to your account within the grievance period. If you fail to make changes within that period, you can do it again only after the counselling round II.
  3. Display of Provisional Merit Lists
    • The provisional merit lists shall be published on the official websites of the competent authority organising CAP for the respective courses.
    • If any discrepancy is found in the merit list, you can submit grievances in written form along with required document at CET CELL, Mumbai or can send E-mail to the CET CELL on [email protected].
    • Grievances have to be submitted within the given time.
    • Final merit lists will be published after consideration of grievances.
  4. Display of Seat Matrix for CAP I and II

    The competent authority, on their official websites, shall publish the information about institutes, courses offered, Sanctioned intake and number of seats available for each category before each round.

  5. Filling The Option Form
    • You must Fill and confirm the Online Option Form having preferences of Institutions before CAP Round I. The option form can be filled by logging in with your Application ID and password.
    • The option form once confirmed shall be considered for allotment in CAP Round I and II.
    • You are advised to study the college details and give options to the maximum colleges of your own choice.
    • You can select as many number of colleges as you wish to in the option form.
    • After confirmation of your choices, you will not be able to change them later.
    • Take a printout of your Option form for future reference.
  6. Provisional Allotment and Payment of Acceptance Fee
    • The competent authority shall display the lists of allotment of seats for CAP Round I and II based on the choices filled by the candidates.
    • The Seat Acceptance Fee shall be Rs. 3,000 for Candidates of General Category, VJ/DT, NT, SBC/OBC Category and Rs. 1,000 for SC, ST Category Candidates within the State of Maharashtra.
    • In case of cancellation of admission, the Institute will refund the fee after deduction of Rs.1,000/- towards processing charges in case of General Category, VJ/DT, NT, SBC/OBC Category and Rs. 300/- in case of SC, ST candidates from Maharashtra State
    • It has to be paid through a demand draft in favour of the Admitted College as per the Instructions displayed on the Notice Board of the Admitted College.
  7. ‘FREEZE’ or ‘FLOAT’ The Allotted Seat

    The candidate can either ‘FREEZE’ or ‘FLOAT’ the seat alloted to him/her during the provisional allotment. The options are described below:

    • FREEZE: Select this option if you are satisfied with the alloted institute and accept it by paying the full admission fee at the alloted institute. You can’t participate in the subsequent round of admissions.
    • FLOAT: Select this option if you expect a seat at an institute of your higher preference in the subsequent rounds of admission. It shall not be available for candidates who are alloted institute of their First Choice.

      On the selection of Float option, if a seat of higher preference becomes available in the next round, it shall be automatically be upgraded and the previously allotted seat shall be forfeited.

      Please note the following points regarding “freeze” and “float” options:

    • Candidates will not have to exercise “Freeze” and “Float” options through their log in.
    • It will be taken care of automatically by the System.
    • If a candidate who has been allotted their first choice, does not report at the institute within the given time, he/she shall be automatically considered for the CAP Round III.
    • If a candidate wants to exercise FLOAT, he/she must report at the alloted institute and pay the acceptance fee or else he/she won’t be considered for the second round of CAP.
    • Candidates who have been allotted seats of their first preference, but do not take admission in the rounds I and II, must pay the seat retention fee in order to be considered for betterment in the III round.
  8. CAP Round III
    • The seats available for this round shall be published on the website.
    • The Candidates are allowed to fill in or edit the already filled online option form. The CET qualified candidates who have not registered for CAP earlier will be able to register themselves now.
    • Candidates who can participate in this round are:
      • The candidate who has not been allotted any seat in any of the previous rounds.
      • who did not participate (failure of filling option form) in previous rounds.
      • Those who have taken and cancelled their admission in the earlier rounds or rejected seats.
      • Those who have Freezed the admission by paying Seat Acceptance Fee in earlier rounds but are desirous of Floating for this final round.
  9. Reporting And Confirmation Of Admission
    • After final CAP Round, the Candidate shall report to the institution finally allotted to him/her and confirm his/her admission in the Institution. The institution will upload the admitted status of the candidate online.
    • The candidate shall confirm the admission by paying the requisite amount of fee and by submitting required documents in original to the respective institute, to which admission is granted as per schedule.

NOTE: If any seat remains vacant after CAP, it shall be filled according to the merit and by a candidate of the category whom the seat was earmarked for.

  6. Print out of On-line Application form and Option form of Centralized Admission Process (CAP) 2019.
  7. School Leaving Certificate, if required to substantiate claim.
  8. Domicile Certificate or Birth Certificate Mentioning place of Birth or School Leaving Certificate mentioning place of birth.

For LLB

  1. SSC(Std.X) Mark sheet
  2. XIth Std. Mark Sheet /Pre University Marks Memo.
  3. HSC (Std.XII) Mark Sheet
  4. Degree FY,SY, TY. Marks Memo

In addition to the above documents, candidates are required to produce Additional Documents depending upon the Category to which they belong.
