There are various factors that are considered while preparing a cut-off for an entrance.
Factors Affecting the Cut Off of JEE Main Exam
- Difficulty in the level of examination
- No. of candidates appearing for the examination
- Availability of Seats
- Performance of the candidate
- Previous years’ cut-off trend
Candidates need to score at least the cut-off marks to be eligible for counselling. They have to either score marks equal to or more than the released cut off in order to get into the engineering institutes. Candidates can assume the cut off before its release by analyzing the previous cut off trends.
Some state colleges do not conduct any internal entrance exam for admission to engineering/architecture courses. They do not participate in the counselling of JEE Main but consider the score obtained in it. It is, therefore, necessary for students of those states to appear for JEE Main. It is an important entrance exam. All information pertaining to it should be read carefully. Students are advised to read the official JEE main brochure on the official website before filling in the application form and other such documents.
