KCET Counselling 2018

The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) is in charge of conducting the counselling of KCET 2018. KCET 2018 document verification had begun from the 12th June 2018. Qualifying candidates who secure a rank are called for KCET 2018 counselling on the dates assigned as per their ranks. The counselling of KCET 2018 is being conducted in two rounds and one extended round (if seats remain vacant). Candidates having their names in the allotment result have to make the fee payment and download admission order by the 2nd week of August 2018. The candidates have to enter their choice of Institutes and Courses. Seats are allotted to candidates as per their final option entry. KCET Result 2018

KCET 2018 result has been declared online on 1st June 2018. Qualified candidates will be assigned ranks as per their result in KCET 2018. In case of any discrepancies found in the result, candidates may submit their objections within three days from the date of publication of the KCET 2018 result.

KCET Cut off 2018

KCET 2018 cutoff will be announced by the KEA in the form of opening and closing ranks. To be eligible for admissions to various government and private colleges, candidates need to obtain the cut off marks of KCET 2018. Candidates failing to score within the closing cutoff rank will not be admitted to any of the undergraduate courses offered by the participating Institutes.

KCET Seat Allotment 2018

KCET 2018 1st round seat allotment has been released on 20th June 2018. Seat allotment will be conducted in four rounds. Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their choice of institute and courses and availability of seats. Selected candidates will then have to make the fee payment and download admission order. KCET seat allotment is declared in online mode. Seat allotment of KCET is prepared in order of merit and based on choices entered by candidates taking the seat matrix into consideration. KCET Answer Key 2018

The final answer key had been published. The provisional answer key of KCET 2018 was announced on 23rd April 2018. The candidates / parents / lecturers can file their objections, if any, should be submitted with justification through e – mail: [email protected] (mail should be titled as CET-2018 – Objection – Subject Name) on or before 30-04-2018 before 5.30pm. While submitting the objections the subject, version code and question number should clearly be mentioned. If no justification provided, such objections will not be considered.

KCET 2018 Application Form

Coming to the most crucial part of the exam where most of the student commit mistakes. Admission forms play an important role in the process of acquiring a seat in college. All candidates must have a clear look at the brochure of KCET 2018 examination before filling up the form of KCET. The KCET 2018 online application form was made available only through online mode. No other mode was applicable to get the application form. Candidates could fill the KCET 2018 application form online from 1st Feb, 2018. Eligibility Criteria for KCET 2018

The examination authority of KCET exam releases a set of eligibility criteria that the applicants must possess in order to appear in the entrance exam. Before filling up the online application form, applicants are advised to go through the eligibility criteria carefully. The below-given table shows the eligibility conditions that a candidate must satisfy to appear in the KCET 2018 examination.

2. Nationality Candidate must be a citizen of India. The applicants from Karnataka and Jammu & Kashmir as well as NRI Candidates also eligible to write KEA CET exam.
3. Basic Academic Qualification
  • The candidate should have studied and passed in one or more Government or Government recognized educational institutions located in the state of Karnataka for a minimum period of seven academic years commencing from 1st standard to 2nd  PUC / 12th standard as on 1st July of the year in which the entrance test is held and must have appeared and passed either SSLC / 10TH standard or 2nd PUC / 12TH standard examination from Karnataka state.
  • In case of the candidate who had taken more than one year to pass a class or standard, the years of academic study is counted as one year only.
  • Candidates who have passed or appearing in class 12 examination or an equivalent exam from an institution recognized by the State Government may apply for KCET 2018.
  • The general category candidates must have obtained 45% with Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects with any of the Chemistry / Bio -Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer Science as optional subjects and English as one of the languages.
  • Candidates belonging to the SC, ST(Category-I) and OBC (2A, 2B, 3A and 3B) category have to score a minimum of 40% aggregate marks.

NOTE: Students belonging to the state other than Karnataka can also apply for the seat reserved under government quota but they have to possess any one of the eligibility clauses mentioned.

The KCET Eligibility Criteria are different for the courses of Engineering/Architecture and Pharmacy/Science. Candidates can check their eligibility below for appearing in the KCET 2018 exam:

  • Qualifying Exam: Candidates have to qualify the 2nd PUC/10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized board.
  • Subject: Candidates must pass their examination with Mathematics & Physics as a main subject & English as a language subject.
  • Minimum Marks: It is compulsory to score at least 45% marks (40% marks in SC/ST category) in physics and mathematics along with one of the subjects, i.e. Biotechnology/Biology/Electronics/Chemistry/Computer science.
  • Candidates who will appear class 12 exam in 2018 can also apply for KCET 2018.
  • For architecture course, candidates must have a valid NATA score card.
2. For Pharmacy/Science Courses:
  • Qualifying Exam: Candidates have to pass their 2nd PUC/10+2 or equivalent with PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English as a language subject.
  • Minimum Marks: Candidates have to secure minimum 50% marks (40% in case of SC/ST Category) in PCB group.
  • Candidates who will appear class 12 exam in 2018 can also apply.

KCET  2018 Application fees

Candidates could pay the application fee only through offline mode (through the specified bank Challan). Application fee of KCET exam is vary for different category. The below-given table shows the application fee for different category

KCET 2018 Reservation of seat

Reservation of seats are made in favour of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes(SC), Scheduled Tribes(ST) and Other Backward classes(OBC) in KCET 2018. Candidates belonging to reserved categories are required to submit documents such as certificates issued by the concerned Tahasildar in the forms during the verification of original documents at the helpline centres.

Kannada language test: Candidates from Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga need to appear in the Kannada language test. It will be conducted by KEA in a test centre located at Bangalore only. The Difficulty level of Kannada language test is of 4th standard level.

NOTE:- Minimum passing marks for Karnataka Language Examination is 12 marks. Candidates need to obtain the minimum score for assignment of ranks and to become eligible for allotment of seats in KCET 2018.

KCET Exam Centers 2018

KCET 2018 will be held in around 53 exam centres across 29 districts of the state such as Bangalore, Ramanagara, Chikmangalur, Gulbarga and Mysore among others. Candidates have to choose KCET 2018 exam city as per their convenience while filling the application form. The name and address of KCET exam centre 2018 will be mentioned on the admit card.

          During registration for KCET 2018, you have to provide your email id and mobile number. After submitting the page, a unique “user ID” and “password” is sent to your registered email id and mobile number as well. So, in case, you forgot the user ID or password, you can easily retrieve from there.

      To get enrolled for BHMS course for the academic session 2018 in the Institute affiliated to Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA), one must attend and qualify the NEET 2018 Exam. Candidates need not to attend the KCET 2018 Exam for admission to BHMS or MBBS programme. The admission of candidates into BHMS programme will be based on the rank obtained in NEET 2018 Exam.

      You cannot change/edit the selected programme after the submission of application form of KCET 2018. However, admission into the MBBS/BDS programme, you need to qualify the NEET 2018 Exam. The admission to MBBS/BDS programme will be based on the rank obtained in the NEET 2018 Exam. The candidate need not to attend the KCET 2018 Exam to get enrolled for MBBS/BDS programme into the Institute affiliated to Karnataka University.

First one, In case, if the correction to be made is necessary, then you may create a new user login and fill the form again and then pay the application fee and the other one is, the mistake occurred can be corrected at the time of admission by contacting the admission authority of allotted Institute.

      If you have left the unnecessary blanks during application form filling of KCET 2018 Exam, then no need to worry about that. Although if you have filled up the application form and paid the application fee, then you cannot make any changes in any field in the application form.     The candidates claiming for reserved seats under Horanadu & Gadinadu Kannadiga quota and whose mother tongue is Kannada, Tulu or Kodava, will have to undergo a Kannada language test. The minimum passing marks for this test will be 12 out of 50. However, the Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates who have studied ten full academic years in Kannada Medium from class 1st to 10th in places outside the state of Karnataka need not appear for Kannada Language Test conducted by KEA.

So, in that case, you can’t apply for the seat under reserved category. You have to apply as a general category candidate while filling up the application form. Any kind of income certificate is not required.

      To get enrolled in MBBS/ BDS/ AYUSH programme in the colleges of Karnataka, you have to appear for NEET Exam.
      To get enrolled for B.Tech/ B.Sc etc programme in the college located in the state Karnataka, You have to attend KCET Exam. Refer to KCET 2018 eligibility article for more information.

    During registration for KCET 2018, you have to provide your email id and mobile number. After submitting the page, a unique “user ID” and “password” is sent to your registered email id and mobile number as well. So, in case, you forgot the user ID or password, you can easily retrieve from there.

      If you want to get enrolled for MBBS programme in the colleges of state Karnataka, then you must apply and attend the NEET UG 2018 Exam. The admission to MBBS programme will be done via NEET UG 2018 Exam score, not via KCET 2018. No need to apply for KCET. Only one application form has to be filled to participate in the counselling and admission procedure for MBBS . The application form will be released after the NEET UG 2018 Exam result is out.

    I was born in Balla, Kasargod and did my high schooling in Hosdurg Taluk. I did my B.Arch from Gulbarga University. Our native language is Konkani. Is he eligible to write KCET &/or COMEDK entrance? if yes, which category.

      The last date to register and apply for KCET 2018 exam is 26th (up to 5:30 pm). Although, you can pay the application fee until 28th Feb 2018. After the 26th Feb, you cannot apply for the exam.
