JNUEE 2019: NTA has released the Admit card for JNUEE 2019 on 15th May 2019. Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is one of the premier universities of India. The JNU Entrance Exam (JNUEE) for admissions into various Undergraduate, Postgraduate, M.Phil/PhD and Part-time courses is conducted once every year. The entrance examination for the 2019 monsoon session will be held from 27th May 2019 to 30th May 2019 and will now be conducted by National Testing Agency. The candidates planning on applying for the admission to the course will be required to fill up the Application Form and submit it before the due date, then only they can appear for the entrance exam. The entrance examination for admissions into M.Phil/PhD and B.A 2nd year courses will be followed by an Interview of the shortlisted candidates in the written examination. New: National Testing Agency had made JNUEE Application Form Correction window available. The last date for the correction was 29th April 2019. 

New: Jawaharlal Nehru University released the Application Form of JNUEE on 15th March 2019 and the last date for the submission was 18th April 2019. The last date for the submission of the fee was 19th April 2019. As per the changes, the exam of JNU will be conducted by National Testing Agency. The exam will be held from 27th May 2019 to 30th May 2019. 

Latest-  JNUEE 2019 exam will now be conducted by National Testing agency. The Format for the exam will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and it will be a Computer Based Test. This latest change is confirmed by the University through an officially released notice on the website.

The schedule for JNU Entrance Examination is released on the official website of the University and the candidates who are planning on taking admission in the University will have to keep visiting the website on the regular basis so as not to miss any of the Important events of the admission to the applied course. JNUEE Eligibility Criteria 2019

The candidates who will be appearing for the entrance exam of Jawaharlal Nehru Univeristy must go through the eligibility criteria in detail and should be assured if they are eligible to apply for the course selected. The eligibility criteria will be mentioned in the Information Brochure which will be released along with the Application Form. The applicant must go through the eligibility very carefully and then only should proceed with the Application form. It must be noted that if the candidate was found not fulfilling the eligibility criteria, they will not be able to proceed with the admission procedure further. Qualifying Exam: Pass Bachelor’s degree (B.SC or B.Tech or equivalent) from any recognized university.

Minimum Marks: Secure minimum 55% marks in the above qualifying examination.

Qualifying Exam: Pass Master Degree in Computer Science or Mathematics or Statistics or Operational Research or in any branch of Science or Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Engineering or MCA.

Minimum Marks: Secure minimum 55% marks.

Ph.D. (Direct Admission)

Qualifying Exam: Pass 2-year M.Phil degree or Pass 1-year M.Phil degree with one-year research experience.
OR
Pass Master’s degree/BE/B.Tech & have at least 2-year research experience.

Minimum Marks: Score minimum 55% marks in the examination.

M.Phil/Ph.D & Ph.D (Through JRF)

Pass M.A./M.Sc in a relevant subject.

Candidates who have qualified for the examination for a fellowship through a national level written test, i.e. JRF category under CSIR/UGC National Eligibility Test (NET)-JRF, DBT-JRF (Category-I), ICMR-JRF, INSPIRE Fellowship, Ayush Fellowship, Bioinformatic National Certification (BINC) examination (conducted by DBT) or any other fellowship awarded from Government of India.

JNUEE Application Form 2019:

Jawahar Lal Nehru University has released the Application form of the entrance exam on the official website of the University. It is an important part of the Admission procedure and the candidates will be required to fill up the form and submit it before the due date. The availability of JNUEE Application Form 2019 will be in an online mode and there will be no other way of accessing it. Candidates while applying for the University entrance exam must go through the Information Brochure very carefully which will be released along with the Application form. The candidates must read the content and must make sure that there is no error while filling the details in the Application Form. It is important that the details provided in the form are valid and correct. In case the details are found to be incorrect while cross-checking them with the documents at the time of the admission, the candidature will be liable for the rejection.

The Application Form of JUNEE 2019 will have to be provided with the information in all the sections as the incomplete applications will not be accepted. The details that have to be entered in the Application will be the Personal Information, Academic details, Uploading the photographs and the signature, contact address and other asked details. The uploading of the documents must be as per the specifications provided in the Information Brochure. It is important for the candidates that they must select the course they will be applying for very carefully and then can proceed with the Application Form. The final submission of JNUEE 2019 Application Form will only be after the payment of the Application Fee, the forms will not be accepted otherwise.

Exam Pattern and Syllabus for JNUEE

The JNU exam pattern and syllabus vary with every course and subject. For detailed syllabus and exam pattern, find the official e-prospectus-

The following points highlighted the exam pattern in general for all the courses and subjects:

  • Duration: The time allotted will be 3 hours for all the papers
  • Mode: The mode of exam shall be offline i.e pen and paper
  • Types of Question: Objective or Descriptive or a combination of both which shall vary from subject to subject.
  • Total Marks: The exam shall be conducted for 100 marks in maximum.
  • Negative marking: There shall be negative marking of 1/4th of the mark assigned for the question for every wrong answer. This shall apply only for the objective type exams.
  • Number of Questions: The number of questions and distribution of marks shall vary for each subject.

M.A.The exam will contain the questions from subjects of B.A level programme. The paper will be descriptive.
M.Sc. Environmental SciencesThe Question paper will be of objective type and include questions in two parts. Part 1: Includes questions from Science and Mathematics of 10+2 standard. Part 2: Includes questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Geology, Botany and Zoology at B.Sc. level.
M.Sc. Physical SciencesQuestions in the examination of M.Sc in Physics will cover the broader areas of Physics, Physical Chemistry and Mathematics at B.Sc. (General) level whereas for M.Sc in Chemistry, the questions will be based on Organic, Inorganic and Physical Chemistry. M.Sc in Physics and Chemistry will contain objective type questions only.
M.Sc. Molecular MedicineThe question paper of M.Sc in Molecular Medicine will be divided into two parts. The first part will contain objective type questions on molecualr medicine and the other part will consist of questions based on Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Physics and relevant subject.
M.A. in SanskritQuestions in M.A. in Sanskrit examination needs to be answered either in English or Sanskrit language. There will be short answer type questions for a total of 100 marks with no negative marking.
MCAThe question paper will include multiple choice questions based on10+2/Graduate level Mathematics and Probability (80% questions) and General Aptitude and reasoning (20% questions).
M.A. in Economics (with Specialization in World Economy)Objective type questions will be asked in examination comprising of 100 marks with negative marking. The paper tests the candidate’s knowledge of micro-economics, macro-economics, mathematics and statistics, International trade and some related disciplines, such as public economics and economic development.
B.A. (Hons.) 1st year in Foreign LanguageThe paper judges General Knowledge, General English and Elementary Knowledge on the culture and civilization of the languages/country concerned and aptitude for language skills.
B.A. (Hons.) 2nd year in Foreign LanguageKnowledge of basic and applied grammar, besides some competence for simple translation from the English language concerned and vice-versa and familiarity with the culture and civilization of the country concerned. The paper will be set in respective foreign language.
M.Phil /Ph.DThe entrance examination will consist of multiple-choice questions or descriptive type questions or both depending on the subject one has applied for. The admission to M.Phil/Ph.D shall be followed by an interview of shortlisted candidates.

Admit Card for JNUEE 2019

The Admit cards for JNU Entrance Exam 2019 will be available for download on the official website of JNU. JNU issued admit cards in the name of all the candidates who have successfully completed the admission procedure. The link of JNUEE Admit Card 2019 will be made available as per on the scheduled date as announced by the examination conducting body. It is a mandatory document which needs to be presented on the day of the exam. The candidates without the Admit card will not be allowed to enter the entrance examination hall or appear for the examination. Once the Admit card will be available on the official website, the candidate will have to provide the important credentials as asked in the login section of the Admit Card. It must be noted that if the details provided in the login must be valid and correct, the Admit card will not be accessible otherwise.

The Admit card of JNUEE 2019 will mention all the important details which will be relevant for the candidates on the day of the exam. The Admit card will provide the Name of the candidate, Roll Number, Application Number, Course Name, Course Code, Date of the exam, Timing of the Exam, Centre allotted to the candidate for the examination, important instructions to be followed by the candidate on the day of the exam. The details provided must be checked thoroughly and in case if any form of error is found in the contents of the Admit card, the candidate must contact the examination conducting body immediately. It is an important document which must be kept with the utmost care as it will be required at the time of the Interview or the admission if the candidate has qualified the course.

Results of JNU Entrance Exam

The Results of the JNU Entrance examination will be declared online on the official website www .jnu.ac.in. Through the result, candidates will be informed if they have been selected for the course. If the selection procedure is followed by an interview round, candidates will informed if they have been shortlisted for the interview.

The JNU entrance results can be viewed in the following steps:

  • Visit the official website of JNU and click on the link to view results that shall be highlighted there. You shall be directed to the Results search page.
  • Select the mode you wish to exercise to view results. You shall have to select any of “Search by Application no.” or “Search by Registration No.”
  • Select the Programme of study from the drop-down menu.
  • Select the Field of Study.
  • Enter your Application no. or the Registration number, whichever you have selected.
  • Click on the ‘Search’ button.
  • Your results shall be displayed on the screen.

Deprivation points

Deprivation points up to 12 points were awarded to candidates belonging to certain categories. They were discussed below.

  1. Candidates got separate points for each educational level i.e. 10th/ High School/ Matriculation/ 12th level/ Intermediate, B.A./B.Sc. and M.A./M.Sc. from either a Quartile 1 or Quartile 2 Districts. The points are enlisted below:

  2. All Kashmiri Migrants were eligible for grant of 05 (five) deprivation points on the production of registration documents from the notified authorities certifying their Kashmiri Migrant Status.
  3. All female/Transgender candidates were eligible for deprivation points as per details are given below:

NOTE:

This benefit of deprivation points was given only to UG/PG level courses other than M.Phil./Ph.D. programmes.

Admission Procedure for JNU

All the candidates who have been selected for a particular programme must have filled the pre-enrolment form online indicating that they have accepted the offer of admission. While filling the pre-enrolment form, they will also be required to upload relevant documents asked for on the portal. The following amount has to be paid online while filling the pre-enrolment form:

All the candidates who will be shortlisted for the viva-voice in any programme must produce the following documents at the time of Viva-voce:

  • Testimonials from two persons one of whom should be a former teacher of the candidate;
  • A complete list of subjects/papers taken by the candidate for the certificates/degrees held by him/her.
  • A copy of at least one of the published papers of the candidate, if any, which he/she considers to be the most representative of his/her intellectual interest and ability.
  • A brief note (one copy) stating the candidate’s area of specialised interest of research, if any, and his future professional goals, and such other additional information that may help his/her selection to the programme of study.
  • A research proposal of around 500 words is to be submitted by the candidate at the time of viva-voce.

Certificates and documents required to be submitted by all candidates selected for admission to various programmes of study at the time of admission/registration are listed below:

  1. Enrolment Form.
  2. Central Library Application Form.
  3. Five copies of recent passport size photographs.
  4. Two sets of self-attested copies of the Matriculation, Higher secondary, Pre-University or Indian School Certificate or Senior School Certificate (10+2), or an equivalent examination certificate showing the age/date of birth of the candidate.
  5. A Character Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.
  6. Two sets of self-attested copies of the statement of marks obtained by the candidate and passing certificate/degree of Senior School, Bachelor’s Degree/Master’s Degree examination etc; or their equivalent examination.
  7. For SC/ST Candidates: Two attested copies of SC/ ST Certificate in the prescribed format in support of their claim for admission against the reserved quota.
  8. OBC Candidates: Two copies of OBC Certificate in the prescribed format.
  9. For PWD Candidates: Two copies of Disability Certificate in the prescribed Format issued by a Competent Medical Authority indicating the nature and extent (including percentage) of Physical Disability in support of their claim for admission against PWD quota.
  10. Migration Certificate (in original) from the Head of the Institution/University last attended.
  11. Two Anti-Ragging Affidavits (one to be signed by the candidate and the other to be signed by the parent/guardian of the candidate) on non-judicial Stamp Paper of Rs.10/- each as per the given format duly attested by a Notary Public.
  12. Candidates pursuing their studies with some other University/Institution are required to submit discontinuation certificate from their respective University/Institution at the time of registration/admission. They are also required to submit the Migration Certificate subsequently within the stipulated time.
  13. The admission of candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from a Foreign University will be subject to their qualification being found equivalent to the qualifications prescribed by the University.
  14. The candidates, enjoying employed status and selected for admission to any programme of study in the University, are required to produce leave sanction order/relieving order at the time of admission/ registration from their employer for the duration of the programme.
  15. Following documents will be submitted by the candidate (in original) at the Admission Counter in a separate envelope while taking admission/registration:
    • Marksheets & Degree/Provisional Certificate of the qualifying examination
    • Migration certificate
    • Character Certificate
    • Anti-ragging Affidavits
