ISI Admission 2019: The Indian Statistical Institute, Commonly known as ISI, is widely considered as one of the leading institutes in the world for the study of statistics and related sciences. ISI has its headquarters in Kolkata and that was where it was established. However, over the years, it has spread its centres to major cities of India such as Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai and Tezpur. Apart from that, the institute also devotes to the study of agricultural and sociological research at its centre in Giridih. It also has a network of units at Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Pune and Mumbai involved in Statistical Quality Control and Operations Research. The notification for 2019 admissions in B Stat (Hons.), B Math (Hons.), M Stat, M Math, MS (QE), MS (QMS), MS (LIS), M Tech (CS), M Tech (CrS), M Tech (QROR), PG Diplomas and Research Fellowships programmes offered by the institute will be released in the month of February 2019. The selection of candidates for various courses will be dependent on their performance in the written Admission Test and the subsequent interview.

Application Procedure for ISI Admission 2019

The Application Form of ISI 2019 will be released in an online mode on the official website of the University. Candidates who are planning on appearing for the exam will be required to fill up the Application Form and submit it before the given due date. The tentative date for the release of the ISI Application Form 2019 will be in February 2019 and the last date for the submission of the form is March 2019. It is important that the details provided in the form is valid and correct and any form of incorrect detail will prohibit the candidate from taking an admission to the course.

It must be noted by the candidate that the availability of the Application Form of ISI 2019 will only be in an online mode and then there will be no other way of accessing it. The Application Form will have the section which has to be provided with the Personal Detail, Academic detail, uploading the photographs and signature and the document which has to be uploaded in the Application form as per the specifications provided in the Information Brochure which will be released along with the Application Form of ISI 2019. The final submission of the Application Form will only be after the payment of the Application and incomplete Applications will not be accepted.

 Important Points Related to ISI Application Form 2019:

  • The application form for ISI shall be available online on the website https://www.isical.ac.in/~admission/ . Please ensure that you have the minimum educational qualification required for a particular course before filling the application form.
  • Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying exam may also apply but they must have passed the examination by 1st July 2019.
  • Only Indian candidates can apply online through the online admission portal of ISI mentioned above. Candidates residing outside India must contact the Dean’s office at the e-mail address: [email protected] .

Eligibility Criteria for ISI Admission 2019

Candidates who will be applying for the entrance exam conducted for the admission to Indian Statistical Institute must make sure that they are fulfilling the eligibility before applying for the exam. The details of the eligibility will be mentioned in the Information Brochure which will be released along with the Application Form of ISI 2019. Candidates who will not be able to fulfil the criteria will not be allowed to proceed with the admission procedure further. It must be noted though that the eligibility of each course will vary as per the guidelines defined by the Department for which the candidate will be applying for. The Eligibility for each course will be on the basis of the course and the topics that will be covered in that.

The minimum educational qualification for each course offered by ISI is outlined in the table below:

ISI Admission Exam Pattern and Syllabus 2019:

The exam pattern is an important part of the admission as the candidate’s performance in the entrance test will determine the further procedure to be followed by them. The pattern defined for each course will be different and the candidate’s appearing for the respective exam will have to make themselves aware with the pattern of the exam as well as the topics that will be covered in the entrance examination of Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) 2019. The procedure which will be followed for the admission will be of the written exam and the Interview which will be held by the examination conducting body of the Institute. If the candidate appearing for the Written test qualifies the exam, they will have to appear for the interview round and the final admission will be on the basis of the score secured by them in both the rounds.

The following table explains the subject matter for each of the tests and the test type. However, it should be noted the pattern and timings of the exam mentioned is a tentative one and it might be different for ISI 2019 Admission Test.

Admit Card For ISI Admission Test 2019:

The Admit card of Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) 2019 will be released in an online mode and only those candidates who have successfully submitted the Application Form will be able to download it from the official website. The Admit Card is an important document which has to be presented on the day of the exam by the candidate, their entry will be prohibited otherwise inside the entrance examination. The login link of ISI Admit Card 2019 will be made available as per on the scheduled date as announced by the examination conducting body and the candidates who have to download the Admit card will have to provide the credentials which are valid and correct, the admit card will not be accessible otherwise.

The Admit Card of ISI 2019 will mention all the important details such as the Name of the candidate, Application Number, Roll Number, Date of the exam, Timing of the test, Course Name, course code, exam centre allotted to the candidate, centre code and instructions to be followed by the candidate on the day of the exam. It is important that the candidates go through the details mentioned on the Admit card very carefully and if any form of an error is found on the Admit card of ISI, the applicant must contact the examination conducting body immediately.  Candidates are advised that they get the multiple photocopies of the Admit Card on the day of the exam, in case the one downloaded gets lost or damaged on the day of the exam.

ISI Admission Answer Key 2019:

The Answer key of ISI 2019 will be released on the official website of Indian Statistical Insititute (ISI) a few days after the conduction of the entrance test. Candidates who have successfully appeared for the exam will be able to download the Answer key and evaluate their performance in the entrance exam. The Answer key which will be officially released by the examination conducting body will mention the answers to the questions which were asked in the question paper of the entrance exam. The purpose of the release of the Answer key is to help the candidates in analyzing their performance in the exam and to check whether they will be able to acquire a seat in the Institute.

Once the PDF of the Answer Key is available, the candidate will have to download the Answer key and cross-check the answers marked by them in the exam to the answers marked in the officially released Answer key. On the basis of this, the aspirant can calculate the aggregate of their marks and check whether they will be able to qualify the exam or not. The Insitute might also provide with an option of objecting the answers in the Answer key to the candidate who finds the answers in the Answer Key to be incorrect. The revised Answer Key will be released, it must be noted though that the window of objecting the answer key will be only for a certain period and the candidate must apply within that.

ISI Admission Test Result 2019:

The ISI Result will be released in an online mode and the aspirants who will be appearing for the entrance test will be eligible to download the result. The results of the admission test conducted by ISI shall be published online on their Admission portal. The results shall be published in a pdf format which the candidates will have to download and take a printout of. The list mentioning the names of the candidates who have qualified the entrance test will be mentioned in the PDF Result list of ISI 2019. It is advised that the candidates get the multiple photocopies of the Result PDF as it will be required for the admission procedure further. It must be noted that the ISI Result PDF will also mention the interview schedule including the date and the venue at which the candidate has to report. The final admission will be on the basis of the marks secured in both the written and the Interview.

Candidates will be called for interview after the declaration of results of the written test based on their performance. The final results will be declared after the completion of the interview round.

The results can be viewed in the following steps:

  • Visit the admission portal of ISI.
  • Click on the link for results that shall be available there.
  • Select your course in which you had given the test.
  • Results will appear in pdf format.
  • Download the result and take a printout for future reference.

Counselling for ISI Admission 2019:

The counselling will be conducted by the examination conducting body of the Indian Statistical Insitute as per on the schedule which will be released by the authorities. Candidates who will be selected on the basis of the written test, as well as the Interview, will be required to appear for the counselling procedure for the final seat allotment to the applied course. It must be noted that the final seat allotment will only be on the basis of the Counselling and it will be important for the candidate to appear at the allotted institute.

The counselling schedule along with other instructions will be released and the candidates will be required to go through it carefully. Once the official notification will be released, selected candidates must go through the details thoroughly and must make sure that they bring all the required documents on the day of the counselling. The list of the documents will be provided and the candidate must also get the self-attested photocopies of every document on the day of the counselling. The payment of the Admission fee will also be on the same day as of the seat allotment. Candidates not following with the important instructions will not be eligible for the admission to the applied course.

The counselling procedure for admission shall include the following steps:

  • The admission authority will release the list of selected candidates and the seats they have been allotted. Wait lists of candidates will also be published.
  • Download the counselling call letter and visit the counselling venue in person on the appointed date and time as notified with the result.
  • You must carry all your original documents along with a set of photocopies.
  • Accept the seat allotted to you before the given deadline or it shall be forfeited.
  • After getting your documents verified, you must pay the admission fees and confirm your admission finally.
