English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) is a central University dedicated to the study of English and ten foreign languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Japanese, Korean, and Persian). It is considered to be only one of its kind in South Asia. EFLU has 7 schools and 26 Departments. Apart from graduate, postgraduate, and research programmes, EFL University offers postgraduate diplomas, and degrees through the distance mode.

Admissions in EFLU are open to Indian and Foreign national candidates in the various courses offered by it. The admission procedure is held separately for the foreign nationals and Indian candidates. The Indian Nationals will have to sit for an entrance test. The Entrance test for 2018 Admissions was held on  24th and 25th February 2018. The Foreign nationals will be given admission on the basis of scores in CEFR, IELTS or TOEFL. The Application Form for entrance exam was available from January 16 2018 to February 7 2018 on the official website of EFLU i.e. www.efluniversity.ac.in.

Latest Update:

EFLU has released the admission list of Interview based and Non- interview-based programmes. Candidates who appeared for the entrance exam will be able to check whether they have qualified the exam or not. For the Interview based programmes candidates are provided with the date and time of the interview for the final selection.

Results of EFLU 2018

EFLU 2018 Results of both Interview based and Non-interview based programmes have been released by the University. Candidates will require their admit pass number to view their results.

The results can be viewed in the following steps:

  • Visit the official website of EFLU which is www.efluniversity.ac.in
  • Click on the link ‘EFLU 2018 Results’ that will be available under the heading Academic Announcements.
  • Enter the EFLU admit card 2018 number.
  • The result will appear on the screen.
  • Download and take a printout of the EFLU result 2018.

Certificates/Documents to be produced at the time of Admission

The following documents must be produced by all the candidates shortlisted for Admission:

  • EFLU Admit Card 2018
  • 10th Certificate or Date of Birth Certificate
  • 12th provisional certificates including mark sheets
  • Two passport size colour photographs
  • Qualifying examination mark sheet
  • Migration certificate from the last institution attended
  • Character certificate from the last institution attended
  • Transfer certificate
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)

Eligibility Criteria for EFLU 2018 Admissions

Undergraduate Programmes

The minimum educational qualification for admission to UG programmes is as follows:

  • Pass in the Intermediate/10+2 examination or its equivalent with 50% marks for general/OBC, and 45% for SC/ST candidates, with English as one of the subjects

OR

  • Pursuing the qualifying programme mentioned above (provided the candidate has passed the exam by the time of admission and has scored the minimum eligibility percentage as mentioned above)

Postgraduate Programmes (except Foreign Languages and computational linguistics)

The minimum educational qualification for admission to PG programmes is as follows:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with 55% marks for general/OBC, 50% marks for SC/ST candidates

OR

  • Pursuing the qualifying programme mentioned above (provided the candidate has passed the exam by the time of admission and has scored the minimum eligibility percentage as mentioned above)
Note: In the case of Hons. degree, only Hons. marks will be considered.

For M.A. in foreign language (Arabic, French, German, Russian, and Hispanic)

  • A Bachelor’s degree in the language applied for OR a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a certificate of B1 level proficiency equivalent to Advanced Diploma in the language applied for.

OR

  • Pursuing the qualifying programme mentioned above (provided the candidate has passed the exam by the time of admission and has scored the minimum eligibility percentage as mentioned above)

For M.A. Computational Linguistics

  • A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: a) Linguistics b) English(with at least 15 credits in Linguistics) c) Computer Science and /or Engineering and Technology d) Computer Applications e) Mathematics and Physics with 55% marks for general/OBC, 50% marks for SC/ST candidates

OR

  • Pursuing the qualifying programme mentioned above (provided the candidate has passed the exam by the time of admission and has scored the minimum eligibility percentage as mentioned above)

PGDTE English

  • M.A. in English/English Literature/Linguistics/ TESL/ELT with 55% marks for general/OBC, 50% marks for SC/ST candidates (The percentage requirement may be relaxed for sponsored candidates.)

OR

  • Pursuing the qualifying programme mentioned above (provided the candidate has passed the exam by the time of admission and has scored the minimum eligibility percentage as mentioned above)

PGDTA Arabic

  • M.A. in Arabic /Arabic Literature/Linguistics/ Teaching of Arabic with 55% marks for general/OBC, 50% marks for SC/ST candidates (The percentage requirement may be relaxed for sponsored candidates.)

OR

  • Pursuing the qualifying programme mentioned above (provided the candidate has passed the exam by the time of admission and has scored the minimum eligibility percentage as mentioned above)

PhD

  • MA with 55% marks for General/OBC and 50% marks for ST/SC candidates.

OR

  • M.Phil

OR

Application Form for EFLU Admission 2018

For Indian Candidates

The application forms were available online and no offline mode was available.

The application procedure included the following steps:

New User Registration

  • Click on the link “Online Application Registration” that shall be available under the ACADEMIC ANNOUNCEMENTS section on the official website of EFLU
  • Enter all the details required. Then click the SUBMIT button.
  • Enter all the relevant details carefully. You cannot change data entered in the form.
  • You will receive a password from the EFL University to your registered mobile number and email id.
  • Retain your Username and Password for further reference.

Confirmation of Password

  • Click on the link ‘Online Application Login’.
  • Login using your User Id and Password.

Filling the Application form

  • Fill in the details on each page and click on ‘save’.
  • Upload all the necessary documents.
  • Pay the application fee. The application fee for different categories shall be as follows:
General/OBC Rs. 500/-
SC/ST/PWD Rs. 250/-
  • Click on “Submit” button.
  • On successful Payment, you will receive a Confirmation SMS and Email.

For Foreign Nationals

The application form was to be downloaded from the website.

Exam Pattern and Syllabus of EFLU 2018

The performance in the entrance examination will decide the fate of a candidate regarding admission to various courses. The following points highlight the basic style of the entrance examination:

  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Type: Objective and Descriptive. Some papers will only be objective. If the test is in two parts – an objective part and a descriptive part; the duration of the former is 1 hour, and for the latter is 1 hour.
  • Mode: Pen and Paper (Descriptive) and Computer based (Objective)
  • Total marks: 100
Note: Ph.D., M.A. JMC, and M.A. in Foreign Language programmes will consist of an interview (Oral) round as well.

Admit Pass for EFLU Entrance Examination

Admit pass is available online in the name of all the candidates who have successfully submitted the online application form and paid the application fees. The University will not send the admit pass by post. It is the responsibility of the candidate to download the admit pass by filling their credentials and appear for the test.

The admit pass is available for download on the University’s website from 16 February 2018. Candidates have to login using your User Id and Password to download it.

The admit card must be brought to the examination hall on the day of the exam. The allotted examination centre will be made known through the admit pass.
