 What are the Criteria for AIIMS Nursing 2019?

Before filling the application form, it is very much important to know whether you are eligible for this course or not. The Institute has some eligibility conditions in order to get admissions for Nursing Courses. Thus, the applicant has to satisfy the eligibility conditions in order to be eligible and move further to the next stages of the admission process. The eligibility criteria include- Age, Nationality, Educational Qualifications, etc.

The criteria for  AIIMS B.Sc Nursing Courses are as follows-

  • The Nationality of the Candidate must be Indian/OCI/Foreign Nationals
  • The minimum age of the candidate is 17 years as on 31st December 2020. The age of the applicant should not be born after 2nd January 2002.
  • This Course is only applicable for the female candidates.
  • The Applicant must have passed class 12th from a recognized Institute/University of any Indian State.
  • Applicant must have Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as their subjects.
  • The Minimum Qualifying Marks must be 55% for General and OBC Category candidates and 50% for Reserved Category Candidates.

It must be noted that the candidates whose results are likely to be declared in June 2020 are also eligible to apply. Candidates who are due to appear the examination or are waiting for the results are also eligible to apply. But, for this case, the candidates have to submit proof regarding the passing exam details at the time of counselling.

Eligibility Criteria for Foreign Nationals

If you are a Foreign National, then you will be admitted to the AIIMS New Delhi only. The Eligibility condition is quite similar to that but they are exempted from taking the Entrance Examination. These candidates will be offered admission on the basis of the academic scores.

Eligibility Criteria for OCI Citizens

The Overseas Citizen of India will be eligible to apply to all seven AIIMS Institutes. The Candidates have to submit their proof of registration as OCI under section 7A of Citizenship Act. 1955 to eligible to appear in the test.

Eligibility Criteria of AIIMS B.Sc Nursing (Post-Basic)

  • Candidates must have passed class 12th from a recognized Board/University
  • Candidates who have passed Class 10th and 12th on or before 1987 are also eligible.
  • Applicants with Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery from any Institution recognized by Indian Medical Council are also eligible.
  • The Candidates must have registered as RM/RN (Registered Nurse/Registered Mid-Wife) with State Nursing Council.
  • Male Nurses must obtain a certificate in General Nursing and instead of training in midwifery, training in any subject out of the following, for a period of six months-

AIIMS Nursing Application Form 2019

The AIIMS Nursing Application Form was started from 30th November 2018 to 3rd January 2019. The Application Form was available online on the official website of AIIMS. Filling of the Online B.Sc Application Form is on the basis of the eligibility criteria. The mode of filling the application form is online only. Candidates have to fill in the online form before the closing date as it was available for a limited period of time.

How to Fill in the AIIMS Nursing Application Form?

Stage – I Basic Registration

The Basic Registration is the first step to fill in the application form. To start with the basic registration, candidates have to visit the official website and complete the steps. The AIIMS Nursing, basic registration includes the following steps-

Filling Personal Details
  • Name of the candidate
  • Father’s Name
  • Mother’s Name
  • Address as per the residential proof
  • Date of Birth
  • Category of the Applicant
  • ID Card Details – (Aadhaar Card/Voter ID/ PAN Card/ Passport/ Driving License etc.)
  • OBC Certificates deemed valid for Central Government Institutions and within the validity date as specified.

After entering all the details correctly, you will receive a Registration ID and Password on your registered Mobile Number and E-mail ID. You must enter all the above details correctly, as this can be used in future such as Admit Card generation, checking of results etc.

Uploading of Image

After receiving the registration ID and the password, you will have to log in using the credentials and upload the scanned images. You will have to upload the scanned images of your photograph, signature and left hand thumb impression. These images must be as per the specification mentioned in the prospectus. Uploading images with no proper specifications can lead to the rejection of the application form.

After the completion of all the above details, recheck and take the printout of the application form. Keep the copy of the application form safe for future reference.

Stage -II AIIMS Generation of Code

Candidates whose Basic Registration has been completed successfully must apply for generation of code. The link to generate the code will be available in March 2019. In the Final Registration, candidates have to enter their qualification details.

Stage-III Final Registration and Payment of the Application Fees

  • Candidates can make the payment for the final registration using the code generated at the time of the second stage.
  • Download and take the printout of the application form for future reference

  • The Mode of the Examination is Online
  • The Total duration of the exam is 2 Hours
  • The Examination Paper is divided into four parts- Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and General Knowledge.
  • Total Marks of the Examination is 100 Marks.
  • The Questions will be available in Multiple Choice Objective Format.
  • The exam is conducted in English and Hindi Language.

Tie-Breaking Criteria of AIIMS Nursing 2019

To qualify the candidates and make eligible on the AIIMS Nursing Merit List, the exam conducting authority follows a tie-breaking method. Usually, the tie-breaking method is used when two or number of candidates score the same number of marks.

The Criteria’s used under AIIMS 2019 Nursing Merit List is as follows-

  • If the applicant obtains more marks in Biology, (or Mathematics in case of Para-Medical Courses) in AIIMS Nursing.
  • If still the tie-exists, then the candidates obtaining more marks in Chemistry will be considered and will be ranked higher.
  • Candidates with more marks in Physics is taken, if the tie still exists.

Tie-Breaking Criteria in AIIMS Nursing (Post-Basic)

If two or more than two candidates score the same number of marks both the stages- 1 and 2, then the tie-breaking criteria will be solved using the following cases-

  • Candidates who have scored more marks in the written test will be ranked higher.
  • If the tie still exists, candidates who are older in age will be given a higher rank.

AIIMS Nursing Counselling 2019

The AIIMS 2019 Nursing Counselling will be conducted online. However, The Expected Dates for Counseling Session is in July 2019. The All India Institute of Medical Sciences conducts the counselling process for AIIMS 2019 Nursing. In total, there will be two rounds of counseling. The order of the counselling is- General/ST/SC/OBC. The Counselling Procedure is done on the basis of the merit list/ranks secured by the candidate. The Final Round of Counselling will be conducted offline and the applicants have to be physically present.

Reporting the Allotted Institute for Admission

  • After all the entrance examination and assessment test, a Medical Test will take place.
  • Candidates who are Medically Fit will be eligible for admission
  • The selected candidate has to make the payment by the specified date.
  • At the time of admission, candidates have to bring all the necessary documents and certificates and have to submit it in the College until the course period.
  • Candidates have to undergo a biometric verification at the time of admission.

Note:

Candidates who are already pursuing B.Sc Course or equivalent in any subject but has not completed the same will also be considered. In this case, they have to report the concerned Institute and deposit the original documents along with a DD of Rs 50, 000 as a Security Deposit. The Security Deposit Amount will be refunded back 5 days after the submission of the original documents.
